- Anthe as a name has its root in Greek, and the name Anthe means "flowery". Anthe is a variant form of Anthea (Greek): Latin spelling of Greek Antheia.
- Biography
Born into an arcane clan, as the daughter to a farmer and a fisher, Anthe often watched her mother go out to sea with her father and siblings - then, together, they would tend their farm's harvest until her return. Through those simple means her parents managed to provide for their many children, and though it was difficult while Cyma was gone, Floreo and the children found their hearts lifted by Cyma's bright spirit whenever she returned.
Despite having quite a large family, Anthe often spent time alone, wandering the edges of the farmlands where they met the wilds. It was here that she stumbled upon something... strange. The magical energies of the wilds in that arcane region were unpredictable, and they had acted on the plant life in a way that left it able to bond with the lonely tundra dragon. Not only did it bond with her, but it began to consume her - body, mind, and soul.
Her father sought any hope of a remedy for his daughter, but nothing he tried was met with any success - at times, it almost seemed to be making things worse. At last, a well-learned traveling healer of arcane maladies and possessions recommended one last hope - if he were to take her to the far south, somewhere cold, perhaps the growth could be halted before it consumed her entirely. On the day they said goodbye, her father gave her a the seeds of a rare flower from their home to remember them by, and implored her to always think of her family fondly and return to them one day if she could.
Since her arrival at Brightwinter, Anthe is not quite the same dragon she used to be, but that's not necessarily such a bad thing. Her memories of her life before Brightwinter are few and hazy, but she seems content enough, most of the time. Her affliction has been slowed to a barely imperceptible crawl, frozen in it's tracks by the endless winter of the southern ice fields. It might even be stopped entirely, if she could be persuaded to stay out of the clan's greenhouses. However, born and raised on a farm, her affinity for plants has only grown since her possession began, and it must be said that she has quite the green thumb, able to grow things that no one else could manage to, including flowers started with seeds her father gave to her. The clan's healers have decided it's best she be allowed to do what makes her happiest, if only in moderation. It does seem to make smile more, anyway.

First is Anthe, who's appearance lives up to her lore. I love how matchy her dark secondary is with her other navy apparel, tempered by her skin of tangled branches and white snow. Lastly, her purple flowerfall and garland matches her eyes but makes her truly seem like a blossoming plant that has frozen over and been merely halted rather than some dead bramble already gone and withered away.
