Queen of Algidir

The Rose

Platinum the Kind is the most beloved queen in the history of Algidir, best known for saving the entire population by bonding with the magic within the Rose and redirecting the initial eruption of the Great Flame Volcano. Her construction of a new capital and defense of the kingdom from multiple foreign threats further cemented her as a heroic figure and even her own descendants revere her. She was adopted in her very early years by the great Queen Timber and carried out her legacy faithfully despite being only third in line.

Disappeared in the night in the year 337. Thought to have been deposed by her husband, King Regent Lokiri Mnyxae.

Sometimes, on rare nights where the moonlight shines through the high windows of the Rose's Great Hall, there roams a small haunt. The cat-like form watches carefully all who enter... and so most don't. Only one or two has ever stayed to speak with the figure.

Her voice is soft. If you listen, she will tell you the story of Platinum the orphan. Platinum who was stolen from her home, who left her sister and homeland behind. Little Ninny, who was given over to an aging Tundra Queen with a penchant for adopting lost daughters. "She was lonely. When she was given the elemental crest she cried. The Queen had thought the orphan thankful, but the tears were bitter."

The orphan would grow fast. Taught by one sister to be quick, so she was very quick. Taught by another to be bold, and so she was stubborn and bold. Her mother wasn't present much and thus, like her sisters, she rejected the idea of the throne. "Sometimes... we are given no choice. If we are good, then we must act."

A civil war had come upon them, you see. They don't much speak about it now. And the Rose was an empty ruin created by some ancient thing, so old we would never dare cross the beastclan lines to enter. But the orphan did. She was away from the clan that day, looking for a secret power which might end the war for her people. That day... that day that the Great Flame reared her dark head. But in truth the orphan was already lost.

"You do not touch the Heart, child. It opens itself up to you, reaches inside you, and searches around. And the claws of Telmaru are unforgiving." The specter does not elaborate on Telmaru. "One day, the Heart will reclaim any who escape its touch."

Law and Peace

Platinum is known for her kind laws and her creation of the Council of Flights. The First Council brought balance and representation for the common dragon. Not known for her kind feelings towards the native beastclans however, continuing the traditional crusade to expel them from dragon lands. Through the taxes her mother had set in place, she organized the building of roads. After the death of King Alastor, enacted the Lord's Land Laws, a series of pronouncements set in stone which awarded vast portions of Algidirian land to powerful clan leaders, proclaiming them Clanlords responsible for the care and rights of their people under the crown.
