Rubio is best known for his curiosity and fast-paced lifestyle, despite being a large ridgeback who often frightens anything smaller than him by appearing suddenly.
Rubio's imposing size doesn't stop him from seeking out the smallest of creatures to croon over, loving any cute things he meets.

In fact, one time in his younger years, Rubio was exploring the markets when he noticed another clan was selling Trunkers, immediately drawn towards the yellow, squishy body of one; calling it "the cutest 'chub' ever!" as he so affectionately cried.

The trunker obviously became his and as they grew up together, the two of them were rather mischievous and known to be a double team of adorable trouble.

During the era when the clan was under a vicious dictatorship, Rubio had no part of it like many others and mostly kept to himself; only having the few individuals he loved around to keep them safe.
Among those at the time was young Ridgeback, Brook. He would stand up for her since Carlosa was known for targeting and manipulating younger dragons.

After the clan managed to usurp Carlosa and then stabilized, Brook and Rubio drifted apart and fell away as friends, Brook being able to grow up and find her own friends.

Rubio's role in the clan grew to more importance thanks to his seniority and from others in the clan who found his active interest in creatures valuable for being an educational source.
