Biography

Yin stared down at the glowing eggs. They all seemed...off, even for bogsneak eggs. He squinted and then glared up at Bella.

”No. The last time you brought these atrocities into the lair, they exploded,” he deadpanned.

Bella groaned. ”Pleaseeeeee, Yin? Everyone knows you as the reliable, good guy! You’re the perfect dragon to help us sneak these eggs in!”

Yin shook his head. ”No, no way. There’s a reason others rely on me: And that’s because I don’t help you with your crazy experiments.”

Bella groaned. ”You are such a control freak! We’re getting these eggs in with or without your help!” she growled.

Yin sighed and shook his head. ”That’s none of my business, now is it? You do what you want, regardless of what other’s think of you.” He shook his head again. Muffin's knack of finding Baldwin's hidden (and generally abandoned and still dangerous) laboratories was a mixed blessing at best. Bella had already helped "recover" three other sets of Unstable Genetic Experiments. While it did bring in a good profit for the clan, it tended to be hard on wherever they were living. Cielo still hadn't figured out that the increased scrutiny from the council of clans was due to Bella and her Amigos, and no-one in the lair was looking forward to her finding out. There weren't enough shellbugs to distract her from that kind of revalation!
Yin wasn’t going to be part of smuggling in materials from Muffin's latest find, but he knew better than to try and stop Bella. She, Muffin, and Brew thought that they were basically invincible. Yin, although he was just as experienced, knew better. No matter how good you are, you can still hurt yourself and others.
Yin sighed as Bella stormed off. She had been talking his ear off, but he’d tuned her out as he tuned out many a youngster (and unstable dragons). He watched as Brew and Muffin met her, their packs and arms full of odd eggs and various equipment that fit the "mad scientist chic" perfectly.
Yin snorted. ”No wonder the lightweaver sent me here” he sighed. "This is certainly a task that calls for tremendous patience..." None of them ever listened to Cielo, and when they were in their "posse" they were almost as destructive as their recovered experiments.

Yin overheard Brew's muttered voice ”I told you both to just stop asking him for anything. He’ll never help us!” She noticed Yin watching and pulled a face at him.

Yin shook his head, trying to not crack a grin, since it would just encourage her. Unbelievable...they are all so childish. I suppose the only reason Cielo keeps them around is to keep an eye on them...sometimes, I wish she’d just send them off to the Stormcatcher. At least they’d serve a purpose.

He’d tell Cielo what the three were doing, although the screeching tantrum to follow would be painful for everyone in the lair, not just the perpetrators. As it was, he didn’t enjoy the prospect of being pulled into their incessant drama. The three were always sneaking off to get more wierd items to sell or trade to all manner of quacks, loons and otherwise unregistered "scientific" practitioners.
At least watching the chaos unfold while he was (relatively) safe in his cave was entertaining.

Yin watched as Muffin dropped one of the glowing eggs, bobbled it repeatedly with her claws and eventually dropped it to the ground with a plop and a hiss. It burped some sort of yellowish goo which started dissolving the ground around it before Muffin squeaked, quickly scooped it back up and returned it to the pack that it had squirmed out of. Yin chuckled and shook his head. They would never learn. Yin doubted anyone could stop them, no matter how hard they tried. The three would always be drawn into the chaos.

He snorted and trundled back into his cave, not noticing that a tottering purple egg protruded unsteady little legs and tottered after him, under the noses of Bella, Muffin and Brew, who were once again trying to figure out how to get their latest find into the lair without Cielo noticing that anything was amiss.
