 Thalassarche is a pelagic drifter. She wanders from islet to islet in the Plagueward side of the Sea of A Thousand Currents as the winds take her, on a modified giant waterlilly when she can, on a piece of driftwood or flying when that boat is dashed. Her Nature element gives her an uncanny ability to locate a new craft when her current one is destroyed.

Originally a nocturne, Thalassarche retains an urge and knack for mimicry, and thus avoids close association with anyone fully aquatic lest she forget she cannot breathe water. She transformed into a fae during an attempt to learn voluntary shapeshifting, and thus is not entirely happy to have remained a fae.


Physical description
Even for a fae, Thalassarche is tiny. She remains heavily marked by her nocturne origins, most notably in her narrow, pointed wings and comparatively short limbs. Her body is stocky, heavy with flight muscles. Unusually for a fae, she has a fairly impressive set of horns, recurved and a fine charcoal color, with a slick texture. She is an accomplished swimmer on the surface, and a skillful diver. She is fairly skilled on the wing, but tires easily.

As yet untested.


Kin
Thalassarche is Aphotic's mother, having nested with would-be pirate Chasm during a close approach to the Scarred Wasteland. She is unaware that any of her bacteria-infested eggs survived their sinking to the depths.

The Rosy Lake Cormorant is extremely dubious about the suitability of this match, despite the fact that they are fully bonded.
