Kavalia is a top-tier warrior. In her defense of Derecho Canyon's Storm Point, she battled back maren, longneck raiders, and even, once, a lost and panicked mantarune. Nevertheless she is kind and gentle, willing to lay a caring ear to anyone who will listen. A pelagic tundra raised in the icy upper reaches of the Southern Ocean, Kavalia is difficult to throw off-balance. Whatever trouble she sees is likely not the worst. She is adaptable and stoic, though she prefers to be in the water if possible. Physical description Kavalia is a small, stocky tundra who is nevertheless exceptionally lightweight. She is quite buoyant, and does not readily achieve depth when diving. Her fur is short, incredibly dense, and as impermeable as duck feathers. She is a graceful swimmer and a competent flier, but moves awkwardly on land. She smells overwhelmingly of oily saltwater. All four of her feet are webbed, giving her a lack of manual dexterity. Combat Kavalia is a top-tier warrior. While not the physically-strongest member of the clan, she is the most enduring, withstanding Ice and Lightning mages that would easily fell her fellows. She is fairly fast, though not agile out of the water, and uses the spurred armor on her forelegs to scratch and stab at her opponents. She finishes off foes with a vicious backward thrust of her elbow spurs to the throat or other vital areas. Origin Kavalia hails from a scientific outpost in the southern Outer Sea, as she left her hatching-clan in the Fishspine Reef to apprentice there as a fledgling. She has spent most of her life fighting sea storms and the vast monsters of the Outer Sea, and meets most obstacles with unyielding determination, often alloyed with a sense of relived amusement. Her upbringing gave her the impression that tundras are reviled by most of dragonkind, and she was never entirely certain that her presence in Cindercone Clan was appreciated rather than simply tolerated despite the number of tundras in high positions. Name Kavalia's name is uncertain origin, and came with her. |

The Water Sprite is a quiet, mysterious being who spends most of his time asleep. His advice is cryptic, though not quite as much so as that of Driftwood Shore's resident sprite, and rarely given, but always sound.
