the FOUR of CUPS

Lenna came into the world as an offering to the Plaguebinger - a predestined exalt, who would go on to serve her Deity in all that she did. Her clutch was born into a cult beside the Wyrmwound and, alongside her siblings, Lenna was instantly taken from her parents and thrown into a program intended to turn her into the perfect servant.

And Lenna truly was a perfect servant, becoming incredibly apathetic and numb to the world around her in favour of fully devoting herself to her tasks. Though there was little shift in her day to day life, Lenna continued to move forward at a steady pace, never breaking her path or looking elsewhere in the world. She never questioned why she was chosen, never questioned why she was supposed to do this and why other dragons were allowed their freedom, and never questioned why the Plaguebringer deserved to have such servants - she just did as she was told.

This continued throughout her hatchling years and into her maturing years, as her exalting grew closer by the season. She became heavily corrupted by the Plague magic in the area, as did all her fellow training exalts, with Plague's brewing beneath her skin.

It was at this point in her life, a mere season before her exaltation, that Lenna met Layden. A savvy merchant of Nature origin, he was visiting the cult to deliver promised resources when Lenna first noticed him. He was so unlike herself and her peers that it gave her reason to pause, to look up from her works in shock and awe. He would laugh and smile, and when she approached him and spoke in a voice weak from lack of use, she found that he would speak openly with her as if she were his friend.

Lenna quickly fell into a crisis of faith, seeing her situation from an outsiders eyes for the first time. Layden seemed so happy with his life that Lenna couldn't help but feel inadequate by comparison, never finding joy in her tasks and simply fulfilling them out of obligation. Charmed by Layden's charisma and confidence, Lenna became so uncertain of herself and her lot in life that she ran, fleeing the Wyrmwound alongside Kautra, the Sprite that had been assigned to her. Though she never saw Layden again, she would always think of him as the thing that brought her into this new life.

the ACE of CUPS

Having run away in a fit of panic with no real preparation, and being followed by the cult's guards, Lenna found herself running for her life with no idea of where she was headed. All she could do was move forwards as fast as she could, running as fast as her legs would carry her. She ran for what seemed like days, when a mirror dragon came bounding towards her, letting out a powerful roar. Lenna instinctively attacked her, unsure of what else to do, but the other dragon easily overpowered her.

Lenna did the only thing she could think of, spouting out her life story in the hopes that the dragon would take pity on her and, to her surprise, it worked. The mirror introduced herself as Rei, and agreed to travel with Lenna on the understanding that it was because they were both very lonely, and not because of Lenna's story, since Rei didn't really get what she was so afraid of. Lenna didn't care why Rei had agreed to go with her, and was just glad to have such a powerful dragon at her side.

The two travelled together for many seasons, and Lenna found herself growing increasingly fond of Rei. Lenna frequently became ill, as the Plaguebringer had abandoned her and so left her vulnerable to the very diseases she was carrying, and her body suffered as a result. Though it was impossible for the diseases to kill her, they left her body covered in blistered wounds and tears. Despite all of this, Rei stood by her, helping her when she couldn't move forward and constantly holding conversation, even though she spoke in a stilted, foreign manner.

For the first time in her life, Lenna knew what it was to feel love. And she did love Rei, with all her heart - in a way that she never had her ex-Deity. She even loved Cordelia, when the mirror came into their lives, and Lenna's heart had loved so little that she was surprised it could make room for them both. When Rei accidentally garnered the attention of the Villa's hunting packs, Lenna stood by her side and established the Praevore, doing her best to make sure that Rei didn't tread on too many customs.

She also found a great love in the act of healing, something which was uncommon among the Plague dragons that she had met. Having dealt with the dozens of diseases that she herself had befallen, Lenna found that she was more than capable of caring for the sick and wounded of the Praevore. She became invaluable to the pack, and is viewed with just as much respect as Rei.

TRIVIA

☆ lenna feels very ashamed of her past, given that being exalted is generally viewed as something very holy.
☆ lenna gets sick incredibly easy, and rei often makes jokes about it without realising how damaging it is

Rei ☆ Pirate Queen
Rei is an immensely powerful dragon, and while not the best leader in the world, there is no one that can knock her from her throne.

Lenna ☆ Quartermaster
Lenna is responsible for the majority of the order maintained in the Crew, as well as frequently taking on a roll as a potent healer when needed.

Cordelia ☆ Quartermaster
While more like a child than any true leader should be, Cordelia makes an excellent deputy, capable of boosting anyones morale and taking down just about anyone but Rei in a fight.
