Aigeann was adventurous from the moment he broke shell. He loved to explore- following shadows dancing on the walls or his parents’ tails as they vanished around corners. When his parents first let him go outside the nest for a short period of time, the hatching knew instantly that he never wanted to go back inside. The endless sky called to him, and the sun warmed his hide like a fire never could. He reared on his hind legs and opened his wings wide, trying to embrace the whole world in his happiness. He loved to follow adults around and see what they were doing. Artisans, farmers, scholars, soldiers, Aigeann loved all of them. His parents worried at first. Neither of them were especially outgoing, but Aigeann had a natural gift for connecting with other dragons. He used that charm to its fullest extent to explore and learn about his flight and the world around him. His favorite dragon to shadow, however, was Solas, because following the lead dragon meant that Aigeann got to go al over the clan’s lands and see everything there was to see… at least, everything that Solas allowed him to participate in. His grandfather was patient and lenient most of the time, but he would not risk the hatchling’s safety. Aigeann had to learn to be patient himself, for the time when he could see everything. |

Aigeann is spunky, friendly and energetic. He loves learning for learning’s sake, rarely needing outside motivation to seek out new experiences. He is rarely alone, always looking for a new dragon to follow around and learn from, and always followed by his rasa, Sprui. The animal grew up with the dragon, and the two are inseparable. To see one without the other is akin to seeing a one-winged dragon to the other members of the clan, so constantly are they together. Though Aigeann is more than capable of getting himself into trouble, Sprui can ofter be found head deep in something she is not supposed to be around, and Aigeann has become quite adept at finding ways to distaingle the unfortunalte combinations of long fur, antlers and whatever sticky substance the rasa has found for herself on any given day. However, there could never have been a more loyal companion than the little rasa, and Sprui has proved her devotion for her owner many times, when danger (or just a judicious application of discipline) loomed on the horizon. A small animal is a wonderful excuse to slip out a back door and run for the hills, should one need one. |

Light, brighter than the sun, brighter than anything he’d ever seen before, flared. His eyes burned, and he screamed as the light grew and grew, a physical force pressing against his eyes, until finally it was gone. Mei whirled around to see his son curled in a ball on the ground, paws pressing a bundle of cloth to his face. As his father watched, the young dragon shuddered and straightened, removing his paws from his muzzle. The cloth stayed in place, and Mei saw that although the cloth covered Aigeann’s eyes, the dragon had a confident, even cocky grin on his face, and as he stepped forward, he seemed to know where he was walking without needing to see it. His father asked if he was alright, but the Aigeann just smiled. The sweet hatchling that the clan had grown accustomed to was transformed, into a self-confident young dragon who spoke the words of his god to his flight members. At first, the clan struggled to understand what had happened, but as time went on the Lightweaver made her choice clear to the other dragons. Aigeann never asked for more than he needed, and his guidance was always good. The clan prospered with the Lightweaver’s wisdom channeled through the Imperial. His sight is gone, taken by the Lightweaver when she chose him to be her vessel, but with Sprui’s help Aigeann is able to maneuver almost as adeptly as before. And anywhere the sunlight touches, Aigeann seems to have an unnatural sense of his surroundings, almost as if the god herself is whispering in his ear. |
