Bonecreat was born into a large lair of devout Shadowbinder acolytes. The prided themselves on their dark colouring that allowed them to move unseen. As a hatchling with such pale colours, Bonecrest struggled to follow in their steps. One day he was permitted to play in his nestmates game of Hide. So he hid in the Wispwillow Grove, near the border. He stayed there all night. But noone came for him. He finally gave up and decided to head home.
This was a difficult task for the directionally inept hatchling and he soon found his small self lost on the borders of the Scarred Wasteland. He heard some dragons coming and thinking they were his nestmates he hid inside the skull of a much larger dragon. Naturally he wasn't the stealthiest and his tail, sticking out of the skull's maw, gave him away.
The dragon who found him had the same ivory hide and thought he looked cute, nicknaming him Bonecrest after the skull he tried to hide in.
