Rhea did not need to travel far to find Clan Feldspar. He was born and raised in the southern Sunbeam Ruins, in a small clan in the mountain’s foothills. There, he learned respect for the Eleven, and for all living things, from the town's holy folk. Then, as so many of his peers had done before him, he joined them in search of enlightenment.

As a cleric, he saved many lives and prevented dark beasts from taking others. His holy magic was known to all as extraordinary. He was seen as gifted, perhaps the most promising healer of his age. To his superiors, he represented hope, prosperity, and the beginnings of a generation more accomplished than even their own.

But it was not to be.

In a fierce battle against a particularly heinous foe, he fell and was cursed. His skin began to crack like damaged marble. He became weak, drained of his power and his will to fight. He would have died there, had Isolde not stepped in and banished the beast.

His order no longer recognized him. They had sensed the darkness now tainting his body and done nothing to aid him. He had become a liability. Better he die then and there than linger on in sorrow. It was Isolde and Isolde alone who rescued him, pulled him to his feet, and brought him to his senses.

They left Rhea’s hometown together–two holy folk whose orders had disowned them versus the world. Not long after, they settled in Clan Feldspar’s scenic mountain village. They would be accepted there. No one would judge them for their differences; no one would call them unworthy or cast them out.

Oddly enough, Rhea feels more at home here than he ever did with his order.
