You and your gang have a little more than Azazel - or I, for that matter - are comfortable with. Shall we say you hand over the money, or I will gladly bleed you dry?

Personality: A rarity in the Bazaar, Mafrea's exotic Icelander appearance draws her as much envy and attention as her personality repels.

She has deep emotions, but hides them behind an icy facade and an air of indifference. She simply doesn't care enough about others to show them her best side, or sugarcoat any trait of hers. She’s harsh and bluntly honest - and if others can’t stand that, then that is their problem. If they can’t accept her worst traits, they do not deserve her best.

Due to her difficult past, she has become a deeply bitter and often distrusting dragoness. It is near impossible to get her trust; she always assumes that when people are nice, they want something back - which makes her an adept businesswoman, but less skilled as a friend. It has also taught her the ability to be silent and obedient, but she has a strong will, and will not allow others to silence her when she truly has something to say.

She believes strongly in equality between dragonkind. The idea that one person who perhaps got lucky or inherited a title is given the chance to rule over the rest makes her sick.

Mafrea has no issue with violence. She considers herself a mercenary, but doesn’t allow anyone to hire her. She is her own mercenary. She ties up loose ends and finishes issues the quickest way possible - sometimes for herself, sometimes for acquaintances, frequently for the Duskwings.

Appearance: Mafrea is very tall for her race, clearly due to her Icefield heritage. She is well-built and muscular, with impressively broad shoulders. Due to the same heritage, she is a rarity among her race - being covered in fur instead of rough scales. Her hair falls around her face like a thick, rough-furred mane. She has long, broad wings, but she’s not much of a flier. Her face appears strong and angular - almost lion-like. Her eyes are pale and cold, and seem to see through anyone. She is covered in scars - they are the largest along her shoulders and arms, but her hide is riddled with smaller ones.

Magic: None whatsoever, and she’s not interested in it either.

Background: Her life used to be simple. She was born to a family of hunters in the Frigid Floes, and was about to follow in their footsteps.

Much like the Bazaar she now lives in, it was a trading post - one where merchant caravans came through constantly. Some were more reputable than others. Some were the type that lured naïve young dragons into the snowfields and clapped them in irons to be sold somewhere else.

Mafrea came to accept her new position, no matter how afraid she felt - and despite the abuse suffered at their hands. The group took her further and further north , away from her home, into a blistering desert of endless, rolling dunes. Finally, they arrived at the Sahra Bazaar, where the traders set up shop. It was much bigger and more bustling than anything she had ever seen before.

Now, the ruling clan of the Bazaar, the Desertstars, had forbidden slavery long ago - but that doesn't mean it wasn't practiced there. The traders that came and left knew how cautious the Desertstars were in their own city, but the vast majority of it was abandoned and a perfect place to set up shop, and so, the trade wasn't at all rare. The resident clans would always desire more beauty, so most of the slaves sold to them weren't for forced work, but rather to serve as living ornaments, as lovely and rare as possible. And so, Mafrea was described in exotifying terms - "A white lion, graceful as the aurora". Her thick fur and strong build was a rarity in the clan.

But she was in luck - though the Desertstars couldn’t save her, another visiting clan had caught onto the illegal business and stopped it before they had been able to find a buyer for her. She was taken out of her chains, but the clans couldn't support her - so she had to support herself.

She was still at the bottom of the barrel, lacking money and social status. But the coliseum on the top level - where dragons faced off against beastfolk, vicious animals, and each other - seemed like a good start. She was far larger and stronger than the frail desert-folk, and became famous in the arena as "The White Lion", a title she had once abhorred, but now took pride in.

That was where she met Azazel. The Wildclaw was impressed with her strength, and offered her a proposal - a proposal of marriage. Marriages in the Bazaar are often handled without emotion, based on practicality, and considered something entirely different from actual romance. She needed social status - he needed someone to mother his heir. It was perfect.

She hadn't expected much emotion from Azazel, but soon found herself in a relationship as good as any. They grew into a form of comfortable, companion-like love. Even though she never abandoned her work on the side as a fighter, she has become a respected leader for the Duskwings.

Location: Before the city itself stands an immense rocky spire where the markets are hosted. It is in the shadow of this spire that the Duskwings have set up camp. While they have gained some culture and organization after Azazel's takeover, they are still more of a trading caravan than a clan, and no attempts to build permanent buildings have been made. They are mostly to entirely mobile homes that can quickly be moved. The vast majority of them are made out of the dark woven branches that have become a famously Duskwing style, some of them with a missing wall that is instead covered in flowing silks. Many carry little plants from The Tangled Wood with them, but unlike most Shadow vegetation, most of these are orange and look like small fires.

Mafrea shares a little home with Azazel and Atlas here. It is one of the few permanent houses, set about seven meters above the camp on the side of the spire, but still far below the bustling bazaar above. It used to be a small cave, but has been expanded by the two residents. The entrance is covered in flowing, slightly tattered, purple fabric. It is only accessible by flight, and has no stairs leading up to it. It is their little hideaway, where they can be normal and care about each other and themselves. Most of it is covered in pale purple and blue fabrics, and there are many couches and other places for rest and comfort. Azazel keeps a bookshelf in here, and Mafrea her personal collection of daggers. In the back of the den is a mural depicting the Wildclaw's ascension to the throne.

The majority of her work is spent in the coliseum. On top of the cliff on which the city rests is a deep, carved-out pit of dusty earth - with several levels where visitors and spectators can come and watch. Battles are fought on the bottom floor, between dragons, beasts and captured Raptoriks. It is considered to be on the edge of Sonali’s influence, but he still allows people to gather there. However, the tunnels that run underneath it are off-limits, and no one truly knows what can be found there.
