The only priestess in both halves of the split clan, Gentian spends nearly all her time in the Temple of the Eleven that she built many years ago. She welcomes any dragon to the temple, no matter what side of the war they’re on, despite her own allegiance to Clan Alys. The Eleven do not take sides in the wars of mortals, and neither will Gentian’s temple. She would deeply love to end some of the higher ups in the Trading Co that visit the temple, but, thanks to her oaths, she holds herself back.
Running the only Temple on the island is somewhat exhausting for Gentian, but she loves her work. Dragons visit for a wide variety of reasons, such as seeking guidance from a higher power, seeking guidance from Gentian, acquiring the blessings of a deity, acquiring a blessing for someone else, like a child, or other, more specific reasons. Somehow, Gentian has a solution to these requests. She only wishes her problems were as easy to solve. Gentian has very little free time in her life. When she does, she often spends the time with her friends, Talandar, Squirrel, and Nova. Gentian does her best to avoid spending any of her free time alone if possible, and will go out of her way to make commitments for her off time. When she’s with working or with friends, she doesn’t think about Xerces being locked away by Melira. She doesn’t think about the friends they lost in Melira’s coup. She doesn’t think about the dragons that turned on Alys University. Xerces and Gentian are life mates. While Xerces is imprisoned, Gentian keeps their home in good condition for when he returns. She avoids thinking about his absence whenever she can, except for when she receives his letters. Then she hopes he’ll escape soon, and lets herself hate Melira. When she finishes, she puts the letter in a safe with all the others, and thinks of nicer things than her trapped mate and the monster that put him there. She’s a good priestess, who thinks of only pleasant things.  |

You said you came here to pray, did you not?” “I did.” “Well, there is no one in the chapel, if you desire privacy.” “Thank you, Gentian."
