Biography
YOHAU
Yohau's memories of her hatchling years are vague and short in number. She recalls the green leaves and flowers of the Everbloom Garden, but much of it is a blur. In many ways her life began when she flittered through the branches of a tangled tree and smacked headfirst into the Guardian that would later become her mate. She's no longer the helpless and confused little Fae she was then, a combination of age, experience, and an encounter with a powerful water dragon during a near-drowning turning her into the strong Guardian-pillar of the clan she is now, but she looks back on those frantic early days with few memories and even fewer regrets.
The female progenitor of Clan Hathan is named for an old Aztec Deity, helping to spawn the Clan's old tradition of being named for human Gods and Goddesses. She and her mate have worked hard to move their Clan up in the world, beginning their path in the Everbloom Gardens, and finding themselves now in the Shrieking Wilds. She has her sights set upon the Behemoth towering over the horizon, but that day has not yet come to them.
In the meantime Yohau's sense of ambition is satisfied with looking after nests, ensuring that as many hatchlings are born healthy as possible, and with learning how to adjust to her new breed. Having been born as a Fae, Yohau has never felt the call of The Search, something for which she is deeply thankful, because the other complications have been difficult enough. It's very difficult for her to control the range of vocal tones that her voice is now capable of, and she often prefers to say silent where possible out of embarrassment for the shrieks and scratchy growls she tends towards. Learning to express emotion without the use of frills has also been difficult, and she feels blessed by the Gladekeeper that Sumugan knows her well enough that he can predict her moods accurately regardless.
The largest difficulty to overcome has been the change in size. She often trips or runs into things, or becomes stuck between trees, still expecting herself to be much smaller, and there are moments where she finds herself looking down and must remind herself she is merely tall, rather than high off the ground. Flight has become difficult, as her large wings are more difficult for her to control, but these days many of the clan find her looking more longingly at the sea than the sky...
So often in fact, that after much discussion, she and her mate have finally chosen to retire from their leadership of the Clan and settle in to a long hibernation, with, perhaps, something more permanent awaiting them in the future...
