SUMUGAN

firstgennature_by_wesleydog-d8ww2c1.gif

Sumugan is the male progenitor of Clan Hathan. He was born on the edge of the viridian labrynth, near Dragonhome, and though as a hatchling the distant sight of the Pillar of the World drew his eye, it was The Behemoth to which he turned his course, feeling the call of The Search drawing him towards this place of life. With the strength of tooth and claw he claimed a space for himself in the Everbloom gardens, and though he never became a great Battler, his ferocity in his younger days was such that few came to challenge him for the space.

Not long after carving out his lair he came across a small fae dragon, wandering and lost, and claimed her as both his mate and charge, content in being one of only a few of his breed to end The Search in short order. Though Yohau has since used magic to transtion into a Guardian herself, and no longer needs it, he is still deeply protective of her. That protectiveness extends to the rest of Clan Hathan in turn, and he does his best to lead them effectively.

Sumugan is named for the Sumerian God of the River Plains, and wtih his mate being named after a goddess in turn, it became something of a tradition in the earlier days of the clan for new dragons to take on the name of a human deity as well. The tradition has since begun to fall out of practice, but many of the clan possess names of this nature.

The clan's progenitor has gone through some physical changes over the course of his life, altering himself with genescrolls, but his personality has remained much the same. Steadfast and calm, Sumugan is the foundation upon which his clan is built, and most of the Lair is of the opinion that the day when he chooses to leave to serve the Gladekeeper will be a dark day for them all.

Sumugan welcomes dragons of all sorts and sizes into the Lair, and is careful to see that each one is well-cared for and happy to be there. He has a little trouble understanding some of the younger dragons, particularly those with a flair for apparel, as he himself doesn't care to be covered in cloth of any kind, but he does his best to be supportive anyways. The younger dragons, in turn, try to be patient when their Clan Leader starts telling stories they've heard many, many times previously.

Now, as the Clan ushers in a new Era, it's time for him to retire from his role as leader, and he's ready to settle into hibernation for a nice long rest, with thoughts towards serving The Gladekeeper eternally in the future.
