Sapwing returned to the clan, unrecognizable. Her time with the Gladekeeper had changed her in every way imaginable. The only thing she had left of her past self was a name, and her memories. To Olaf, her long-ago mate, there was the barest hint of familiarity to her scent, but nothing he could recall. Upon noticing the glares from Wilderness, Sapwing took her leave of Olaf, understanding now what had happened due to her extensive absence. How could she explain to them what happened, after the way she had left? So many new faces; she would find someone to listen.

Her Glademother had sent her back with a purpose. Sapwing and all the others sent back in the coming weeks were to be emissaries, the deities needed support now more than ever, they had been sent back to gather more dragons to serve. Sapwing had never been a speaker, or good at commanding anyone's attention, the Fae dialect certainly did not help that. She needed help, training, someone to guide her so she could learn to guide others to the aid of the Gladekeeper. This was the most important task anyone in the clan would have, but they may never truly understand the weight she would bear. Maybe it was good that Olaf didn't remember her; this burden would surely have weighed down his cheerful demeanor until he was someone else entirely. "The storm is coming," Sapwing thought, "and I will not fail the Gladekeeper."
