Personality and Traits
Patient and understanding, Mavis is the Vwilex Clan's deputy. She enjoys reading fairy tales and the history of the clan to dragons of all ages, but has a preference to read to hatchlings. In spite of her handicap communicating with Coatls, she does her best and is level-headed when they ask her to repeat herself multiple times. She prefers to find a peaceful negotiation before turning to violence, though when it comes to fighting she is quite capable. Mavis is extremely loyal to her leader and mate, Captain.

History
From the very beginning, before the clan was even established, Mavis stuck to Captain's side like tree sap. Through thick and through thin, they've been together, supporting each other no matter what. For that, Mavis is grateful. She is also eternally grateful to Dusk, whom helped them truly get the clan going. To this day, she and Dusk maintain a strong relationship.

Mavis is a proud and fierce mother to many and often treats others' hatchlings as her own as well. While some dragons wish she would back off and let them take care of their own, others more than welcome the help (especially with large clutches!). Due to her naturally small size, she's prone to getting squashed if she isn't careful - once they found her practically flattened under an Imperial egg... In spite of having her frills pulled and tail stepped on, she loves hatchlings.

While out on expeditions, hunting, or scouting to expand clan territory, her familiar serves as a messenger. She has given her Frostbite Hummingbird the name of Morona. When news needs do be delivered, Morona flits quickly between Mavis and the intended recipient delivering these messages either by written note or in soft chirps and chittering. Though these days Mavis does not leave the clan as often as she used to, Morona is still as busy as ever. It delivers messages from the Scouting Leader, Tigerlily and any of the clan's security members - predominately from the Chief of Security, Caramel, who has her own message system.

Mavis was not pleased to leave her icy home that they'd worked so hard to build, but kept her thoughts to herself in the move to the Wind domain. She felt Captain's inner turmoil and often spent their nights soothing him in that time. She had no desire to leave but valued keeping their clan together and happy more, while also not wanting to see her beloved fall into despair. She offered insight when she felt it was needed but was often shut out by the Mirror. They grew apart for a brief time after moving to the Cloudsong, and in this time she grew closer to the clanmates who chose to stick with them in the move - particularly Citrus, the clan's scribe, and Erin, the clan's jewelry maker and basic arts crafter.

The strong windy conditions and the great distance between the nests and the clan made Mavis highly uncomfortable, and was certainly glad with the migration to the Light domain. While she misses the seclusion of their ice home very much, she finds herself warming up to the beaches and the history of their new home.
