Clan Leader
Nightshade was born in the depths of a volcanic mountain, and his companions like to joke that some of the fire and ash rubbed off on his personality. He is acerbic, blunt, and aggressive. Still, he is a Guardian through and through. He always has an eye out for the underdog, even if it is a narrowed eye. No dragon seems to have quite gotten past his prickly snarls, though they all adore him in their own way.
Shade used to lead the Coliseum team for the clan. Nobody's quite sure where he learned to be such a brawler; in physical strength alone he's nearly unstoppable. His dark body is littered with scars, though some are much older than others. Stranger still is the few magic attacks he has mastered. Nobody can quite figure out where he learned them, and he's keeping mum on the subject. In recent seasons he has yielded to the young trio of Imps who have vowed to protect the Clan, and also to the triad of Wildclaws who patrol its borders.
Robinia once asked Shade if he had completed his Search, if this place is what he was protecting. Nightshade grew so angry that he obliterated a standing column with a mighty burst of light. Robinia never asked again.

1. Bred to Robinia: 04/14 (2 guardians sold and exalted: Gemini and Hirci)
Not a love match. Robinia thought having hatchlings around would cement their place as a clan. It worked quite well. Both hatchlings created political alliances and now serve the Gladekeeper.
2. Bred to Morrighan: 05/14 (4 guardians born and exalted: Varga, Nathanwy, Bristlebriar, and Hawthorne)
Bred in mutual friendship because Morrighan wanted a clutch to mother. Nathanwy and Bristlebriar quickly determined that they wanted to serve the Lightweaver. Varga and Hawthorne took longer to make their decision, but they too serve the Lightweaver.
