Kaliranthe

A new year on the Sornieth calendar marks the kindling of a new flame, or so Asheira says. The sacred pyres of the Forgewalker are never extinguished; each year, a new hearth is excavated, and a new fire is lit. The oldest Forgewalker temples are ringed in countless bonfires, and at their heart is a fire that has been burning for generations.

(What the Forgemaiden doesn’t expect, of course, is that this flame takes the form of a dragon. But a flame is a flame all the same.)

Kaliranthe comes from Alarisetana, Forgetongue (the cultural language of the Forgelady's adherents). Kalir means "bright spark" or "blessing"; anthe means "beloved" or "precious".
