Saranyu
(SAH-rahn-yoo)
Named for the Hindu goddess of the dawn
Metallic/Facet/Runes
At the time she hatched, Saranyu was aware of two things: her mother Merlinda and the pink and black dragon that accompanied her. The dragon Mother refers to as "The Baron" was a nearly constant presence by her in the nursery, singing to her--low, rumbling songs and gentle croons that she didn't fully understand but enjoyed. She was a quiet hatchling, not scampering or chasing butterflies with the others.
As she grew into an elegant adult, small and slender, the crooning became more insistent. And though he was nearly three times her size, she had a type of control over him. A soft disapproving chirp when the Baron hissed and slashed at a fellow clan-mate that got too close stopped the fight instantly. The only dragon allowed to approach her uncontested was Gaia who, while not the heaviest of the lair's Guardians, is a force within the lair and is not challenged.
She has started to find her own singing voice, her croons soft and melodic as she learns to sing. Much of her inspiration comes from Ausre, listening to the golden Nocturne hum with interest as her mate XuKai flares his impressive wings and poses for her each month, still tirelessly working to impress his mate.
