Biography
Fiddler, or Fid as he is often called was once a young and reckless soul who found himself drawn a into life of adventure, fighting alongside his fellow soldiers in countless battles. His past remains ambiguous, with small fragments that occasionally surface. Perhaps he was once a noble, fallen from grace, or a thief turned soldier seeking redemption. The details of his past are clouded, giving him an air of mystery.
His face is lined with the experiences of a long life. Faint scars crisscross his skin, signs of previous battles, and his eyes hold a depth that reflects the weight of his past. He is dressed in a mixture of armor pieces, each showing signs of wear and tear. Scratches, dents, and patches displaying the signs of long use. Kept carefully in a worn case, his fiddle bears scars of fire damage. The instrument has seen better days, but upon hearing Fiddler play, its beauty shines through, evoking intense emotions.
Fiddler has a natural charm that draws others towards him. Whether it's his fellow soldiers or unsuspecting tavern-goers, he has a knack for captivating those around him. A seasoned veteran, someone who has seen it all and learned from his past, he possesses wisdom that comes from surviving countless battles and skirmishes. His voice carries a weight of wisdom, mixed with snippets of youthful mischief. He possesses a dry sense of humor that often surfaces in his interactions, providing a momentary respite from the seriousness of life.
He is knowledgeable about old-style magic and often has premonitions or 'bad feelings'. He is adept at reading the Deck of Dragons to predict future perils or possibilities, but more often he uses the Deck in drinking or card games when treasure is on the table. He creates new rules for the game every time he deals the Deck, which often guarantees his winning. Each game starts with no rules, and with every card dropped, he makes a new rule.
Fiddler finds it hard to let go of his past companions and can put himself at risk to protect them, sometimes to the detriment of his own goals. He values loyalty above all else and he will staunchly stand by his comrades no matter the circumstances. He sees the world through the lens of someone who has witnessed great triumphs and tragedies, making his perspective both insightful and grounded.

“We are all lone souls. It pays to know humility, lest the delusion of control, of mastery, overwhelms. And, indeed, we seem a species prone to that delusion, again and ever again."
