Beautiful glossy fur pours over barnacle encrusted scales, and deep blue eyes peer out warily underneath a softly glowing horn atop this dame's crown. Her fingertips gleam with a runic touch, and in her clutches she holds a fragile pearl close. To a Skydancer, the feelings of fright and alarm from the Pearlcatcher overlap the prophesy's murmurs deep within the pearl. And to a Guardian, one might even find this pearl to be their Charge, which could throw the young dame into an even deeper panic. The false Charge many feel has made Bermuda incredibly fearful of Guardians, and yet she now lives with a large family of Guardian dragons.
Bermuda has grown always feeling like she has been on the run from the world, though the feelings are misplaced. Her pearl that she has had since birth encases one of the bubbles formed from the Tidelord's prophecies he bellows deep within the Spiral Keep, and its whispers are sacred. Her duty was to carry it from her home in the Spiral Keep to the one chosen for its blessings, with nothing to go by other than that she would just know. She left the Keepers' home at an early age, their talk of such an important duty frightening her into running away from her problems. But she could never leave her duty. Bermuda could never leave her pearl behind. But what would become of her pearl if she found the recipient of the prophesy?
As it turns out, Bermuda was not much of a fighter. Instead of combat, she would talk her way out of scuffles and she began to get good at it. Foes loved to hear about their future, what love may hold for them. She would look to her pearl for answers, and she always prattled her way out of deadly situations until the one day she couldn't. One day, the band she traveled with decided to attempt to rob a large prospering clan of Guardians, and as they went down one by one, Bermuda tried one more time to talk her way out of the wrath of the enormous dragons.
Asala, Coquina and Varatheela stood dauntingly above the small Pearlcatcher, her horn aglow as she pawed around her fragile pearl fervently, looking for some sort of answer. Arching her neck down to the level of Bermuda, Coquina asked gently if she was really with the attackers. As she whispered her declination, the Guardians swept her safely into the cove. Coquina could feel it, and Asalos could confirm it; Bermuda truly was an oracle. Her pearl flushed with warmth at Coquina's touch, Bermuda simply knowing that her journey was over.
Coquina listened to the prophesies whispered deep inside the pearl, Bermuda watching intently. She was a lovely dame, with a frill spilling from a soft jawline, her colors dazzling blues that tantalized her. She was free to stay at Steel Crest, and so she chose to become Coquina's maid. What began with flattery turned into a reserved, silent love. Bermuda, absolutely awful with confrontation, to this day can't handle any advances in their relationship, sometimes wondering if anything is truly there as she jealously gazes at Coquina's other mates.
Bermuda now serves as a healer to her new clan, and a gifted oracle that tells mother's of their young's futures. Coquina's sister began to be a frequent visitor, asking about her nests and what to expect from them. Through that, they began to talk more and become close friends. TidePsyche can feel how deeply Bermuda feels about her sister, no oracles or Skydancer baubles needed for that.
Disbounded Clan's Spiral Keeper Pearlcatcher Lore
They dwell within the Spiral Keep, listening intently to the Tidelord's bidding. The orbs they carry are actually his prophecies, coated in a protective sealant that gives them the look of pearls. The Dragons carefully tend to his visions, making sure they reach the right hands. Some prophecies are given to the Keepers directly; a specific message from the Tidelord meant only for their ears. These Dragons begin to hold their head with purpose, as if there is some greater destiny for them.
