 When Yuuma discovered Rarity sitting alone in the unfinished makings of her clan, Yuuma knew immediately that she was to be his new project. While she worked on dealing with the abandonment of her mate and the death of her child, Yuuma got to work on crafting a place she'd be proud to live. In the whole process of doing that, he accidentally fell in love with this "temporary" project and chose to stay even after he made it into a worthy clan. After all, he needs to make sure no one ruins his hard work.

He doesn't like kids nearly as much as Rarity, so he's always let her and others deal with the more caretaking roles, he'd rather run things than talk to people. Eventually, Rarity even put him completely in charge, abdicating her role as leader to him, and he chose to then move the clan to the Tangled Wood. There, they vastly expanded the size of the clan from the little family they had in the Viridian Labyrinth.

He's a hard man to get along with, which is perfectly fine with him. He only really spends time with Rarity, Isis, and occasionally Rosewater. While he doesn't like other dragons, he does have one creature he adores: Cats. He's absolutely a slave to the cute faces and hypnotizing meow of any kind of cat. It's a real problem.
