Biography

I am the clan's Trick or Treater!

After having been rejected by the Surgeons, Epiphany decided to rebel against the society of healers by causing death and suffering. She created the Blood Moon Scientists and along with Umore and Nightmare, she creates new strands of incurable, if not totally incurable, diseases. Using the venom from Serthi and some of the plants she steals from Pansey, she creates new forms of poisons and toxins that wreak havoc on even the strongest of dragons, including Guardians and Snappers. She calls herself a Plague Doctor for the sake of cruel irony and takes much joy in the suffering that she causes others. Just thankfully has been able to keep everyone in the clan safe from the rebellious Imperial. Aphrodite loves mocking the Surgeons with their own uniforms whilst undermining their attempts to heal those she has made ill. She is living proof that a dragon doesn't have to be heavily Coli trained to be a true nightmare.

Opening and forum written and created by: @LunarParadox

You awaken with a splintering
headache and no recollection of the last few hours. Your vision is blurred and you can barely stand. Strange noises echo around you, ranging from harsh growls to sinister whispers. An awful scent fills the air, something you can't quite place. How did you get here? Are you dreaming? What is going on? As panic wells up inside you, you stagger to your feet and blink rapidly to clear your vision. You are trapped in a narrow stone hallway lit by torches. There is an archway at the end of the room, but it is blocked by cold metal bars. There's nowhere to go but forward. You approach the archway with caution. Through the bars you see a circular room, completely bare except for a flickering chandelier on the ceiling. As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you can see other barred archways lining the walls of the room. Other dragons from various flights can be seen trapped just as you are. Some are shivering in fear, while others yell angrily or try to push their way out of their prisons. Oddly enough, your
headache seems to have
disappeared rapidly. You jump back from the bars as a haunting voice fills the room. It is dripping with amused malice, and the mere sound of it fills you with an indescribable dread. Well, well, it seems we have all awakened. Lovely. I am sure you are wondering why you are here, hmm? You see, I was sent by the Shade. It strives to corrupt the world, but in its current state it is too weak to face the deities. It must gain power through dragon hosts, the Shadetouched.
However, not all are worthy of this great honor. Thus, I have created a test. Those who survive to the end will be chosen to carry the Shade to victory. Concerned muttering fills the room as your fellow prisoners all try to ask questions at once. Some of them shout at the voice to let them go, while others beg to be set free.
SILENCE! It has been decided. In a few moments, these gates will open.
You are in a maze of sorts. There will be hidden checkpoints at
various places where you may find valuable resources. There will be
many tests along the way, from traps to monsters to...other things.
Those of you who escape the
Labyrinth alive will become the
Shade's honored hosts. Do not
think about not participating, for your families' lives will be the price of your foolishness. You hear the sound of many locks breaking and the bars blocking your path slowly begin to raise. Oh, and one more thing. In the back of the cell you will find a valuable object.
To bring you here, part of your life essence had to be taken. It was infused into this chosen object, and it may prove to contain some hidden abilities. Take care, for if it is
destroyed your life will end. At
certain checkpoints you may summon me to trade in this item, if you wish. Doing so will grant you its power, but beware...you may find the price is too great to bear.

The gates have opened. Play the game, shadelings. With a loud creak, the bars of your
prison open completely. You are
now free to leave as you please.
Other than the cells, the circular
room has four hallways leading off into darkness. Above each one is a metal inscription. It is in a language you have never seen, but somehow you are able to understand it. North: The Path of Frozen Sorrows South: The Path of Ruler's Gold West: The Path of Deity's
Knowledge East: The Path of Roaring Silence

As she directed her attention to the center of the chamber, she noticed another female Imperial curled up in a round cell that wasn't there before and realised that the other was easily her size if not larger than her.

Aphrodite, following her logic of
knowledge, originally planned to go down the Path of Frozen Sorrows, she then decided to follow her instinct and sense of destruction and headed down the Path of Deity's Knowledge. As she walked down the narrow, damp corridor, she heard a voice and cautiously began to follow it. Tucking her vial away into her lab coat, she continued on towards the voice that for some reason put her at ease with the darkness of its owners aura.

The doors of your fate are closing. The room of meetings will exist no more. A rumbling noise fills the room and
bits of stone fall from the ceiling.
The archways pointing in each
direction gradually begin to grow
smaller, almost as if the walls
themselves are moving. The circular room suddenly seems much smaller
than before. Perhaps you should hurry and make your decision.

Epiphany sensed that someone
was nearby and she cautiously
approaches the dark entity.
"Who's there? Show yourself to me. Are you an ally or fiend to
destruction?" She snickers to herself upon hearing the screams of the others and the cries of a hungry irate monster.
"Looks like I picked the proper hall after all." To her the riddles came easy thanks to her intelligence and love of knowledge and the traps
failed to harm her due to her own knowledge of cruel traps. As she neared the aura, the blue luminescent mushrooms illuminated the area and she seen a figure before her that was clearly the source of the dark aura. She bows before him respectfully upon recognizing him as the
Shadetouched Trialmaster. "Greetings..." She had found a Cleaver just past the Plaguebringer's Poisonous Puzzle and decided to bring it with and so she donned it.

The Trialmaster's attention was
drawn away from the monster in
Roaring Silence by someone's
voice. He scowled to himself and turned to see who had addressed him. A Shadeling? They shouldn't be able to see him. Not yet, anyway.
Apparently this one could see some of his dark essence. Fascinating.
The Shade would have a strong
host in her if she survived. This one was...who? Epiphany? He really didn't understand why they all had to have different names. You've got a lot of nerve approaching me, Shadeling. The others reek with their fear. He grinned at the sight of the cleaver. So she had found that little prize, had she? The question was, could she use it? Time would tell. There was another here, but he fled. Such a pity. He could have made an excellent deal. Tell me, Shadeling, are you afraid of
making deals with the darkness
itself?

"The darkness of the Shade is not to be feared dark brother, but rather, to be embraced. With the Shade as our sole god and master, there will be no more foolish squabbling over whose deity or element is better as we will all serve under the Shade as a single region. I sensed your dark aura and followed it here to you. I heard that amazing deal that that fool turned down by running. Pity that he ran. I was really looking forward to testing out my new found cleaver on a new plaything. I appreciate this gift left here by the Shade for one worthy and willing to wield it in it's name. Of course, I made it even more deadly by sharpening the points on the bones of the previously fallen and dousing the blade in the venom of a Bonepriest that I had encountered. I admire the destructive powers of the great Shade." She looked at her cleaver then grinned at him, a glint of cruel mischief and excitement visible in the Plague dragons eyes.

The Trialmaster fell silent for a few moments, astonished by the viciousness in this particular
Shadeling. Most of them were still in denial. Well, this would certainly make things easier. With one of them already committed to the cause, the others would succumb that much quicker. A low chuckle echoed through the halls. He was pleased with this one. The Shade had chosen well. Your devotion is refreshing, Shadeling. As my previous offer was scorned, I shall give you my favor instead.
All I ask is that you give me a
precious item. In return, I will
give you a powerful gift. Dark tendrils began to enclose the room, lightly brushing against the imperial's legs. Of course, you'll lose a bit of your soul. But you aren't afraid of that, are you?

Epiphany smirks and nuzzles one
of the tendrils with a dark affection. She then pulls out her vial of Bonepriest Venom and gently hands it over to him.
"What better way to show my complete devotion to the Shade
than to relinquish part of my own being. Those others wont last long from the sound of it."
She smiles and closes her eyes,
enjoying the feeling of the Shade touching her, finding herself at ease thanks to the sheer amount of
darkness.

The Trialmaster paused for a
moment, seemingly distracted. A
different bell rung twice, this one
deeper than the first. Well, Shadeling, it seems two of the
players have already lost the
game. I hope you will prove to be more resilient. A glowing red orb appeared above Epiphany's head,
circling around her body before
plunging into her chest. Congratulations, Shadeling.
From this moment on, you shall
be known as the Blood Mistress.
You may infect the blood of one
target at a time. The infected will
then have two choices: experience indescribable pain,
or do as you command. He laughs darkly. You cannot kill anyone this way, but I think
you'll find it quite useful. Keep in
mind that others who have
traded their item will be immune.
The Shade doesn't want this
game to end too quickly, you know.

Epiphany grinned cruelly as she
listened to him explain her new
power in full.
"I may not be able to make one kill themself via control nor kill them through excruciating pain but I can thoroughly use this to my full advantage."
