During a trip back to Ashfall Waste for supplies, BrightBay brought this feisty nocturne and her companion, a Centaur named Finnabar, back as an apprentice. She and Finnabar quickly became Masters in their own right, forging intricate pieces of jewelry and glass beads and bulbs. After her Mastership, she decided to stay with the clan and set up shop selling her art. She knows that the Lionfish clan is one of few who would tolerate her partnership with her beastclan brother, and home to her is wherever Finnabar will be safe.

It was latter pried from PurpleTang that Finnabar and she had formed a pact when they both had left their respective clans. They had wandered aimlessly trying to survive in the desolate furnace, forming a bond much greater than that of blood. BrightBay had found the odd pair, more feral than civilized and slowly set to taming the two with gifts of food and knowledge. Tang and Finnabar had shown interest in learning the trade of the metal smithery, so Bay conceded to teach them upon their agreement to come back to the clan with him. Together the two work, PurpleTang molding and heating the metal while Finnabar forms the more delicate chains and sets the stones for the jewelry.

However, the art of glass working is mainly done by PurpleTang- though she learned how to do such through books and her own trial and error. Learning how to read was a test of it's own for the illiterate and temperamental nocturne who barely knew draconic. Her desire to learn the art of glass lead her to seek the gentle but firm teaching of LotusBloom. And while LotusBloom will say it was like trying to tame wild depins, Tang despite the troubles- has grown fond of reading for pleasure and knowledge.

PurpleTang's glasswork has recently become in great demand by the White Fin shoal of maren. Glass beads are highly valued by the maren for use in decorating their hair, considering it the height of luxury and fashion to do so. She often trades the beads as currency for goods such as metals and jewels hidden obtained from shipwrecks and ruins beneath the sea. Another common glass items from her forges is glass fishing floats which fisher dragons use a buoys for their nets.
