The old queen.

She brought same upon herself, and upon the Shadowbinder, and for that she and her kin were banished. The gods turn their eyes from her.

In her greed, she sought to make herself immortal. She got her wish, and now year after unending year- a once sharp mind slowly becomes lost to madness.

Memory with nowhere to go, like a book fully written, writes over memory until all context is gone and time blurs together. She screams in the prison she created, lucidity slipping like sand through her claws.

And the once-tyrant loses herself beneath the dark lapping waves of her own mind.
