Midas is the Treasurer, trusted by Anemone to handle the Clan’s vault contents and the transactions involving them, including giving prices for outgoing dragons/objects and tracking fodder prices. He oversees those exchanges and is obligated to make responsible choices regarding the clan’s net worth. Unfortunately, he really has no control over purchases made by his clanmates.

Much of his adolescence spent bonding with Skylor in their previous home lair has caused him to possess the Imperial's temperance, though the clan being constantly underfunded and having poor financial decisions being made by other clan members has had him rather stressed and high-strung as of late. Sorry, Midas!
