Don't let the crown fool you, he is absolutely not royalty. He's not even a Fire or Light dragon. He just wears the crown when he's alone, posing in front of a mirror, because he would definitely be berated for wearing it around the lair.

Louis is the clan's treasurer, a terrible decision really. No one quite grasps just how bad an idea it is to let this opulent golden imperial to dictate the clan's finances, or perhaps they'd just rather not look into the clan's debt. Louis puts aesthetics above all else and considers the clan's members and grounds to be a constant project. He gets along delightfully with the self-assured Alatáriel, in no small part because he thinks the cream imp is one of the prettiest members of the clan. Alatáriel encourages Louis' spending habit by always pointing out where there is room for improvement and what expensive items can remedy it.

He is a huge flirt and his trips away from the clan are to get new project ideas and to attempt to sweet-talk pretty dragons into the clan.

Because of him, the clan is frequently in debt. No matter how many times Actaea tells him to put money aside for lair expansions - "then we can recruit even more pretty dragons" - Louis can help but spend.

Relationships

Louis is a pathological flirt. Any dragon with even a hint of gold his favourite, and the more gold the better. If you were to ask him about his relationships, this list would be even more extensive ~~and wildly inaccurate~~, but these are some of his more notable relationships.

Louis and Alatáriel both have an appreciation for beauty and a certain air of snobbery. They like spending time together discussing the ways the clan can be 'spruced up' along with its other dragons. They are each others' closest friends.

Laitalë is Louis' most genuine crush, to such an extent that he keeps his flirting to a minimum out of fear of scaring Laitalë off.

Louis is definitely the most exhausting dragon Actaea has ever met. He would really like to kick him out of the treasurer role, but he can't find someone else to do it, and he certainly doesn't have the time to do it himself. At least Louis is certainly motivated to earn money, if only so that he can spend it all.

Louis often goes to the clan architect to share his Latest and Greatest Ideas. Aurqilea nods politely, then discards them all. Louis thinks he's beautiful and his endless flirting leaves Aurqilea with a headache.

These two do not get along. Vanima is the clan's seamster, who detests being bossed around by Louis. And Louis has the tackiest taste, so Vanima is even more eager to reject his ideas. They will never find middle ground.

Nymph is one of the clan's painters, and Louis is in a constant (unsuccessful) bid to seduce her into painting the lair blinding gold rather that its more subtle and inarguably more elegant reds, blues and greens. She is adamant that " gold is only to be used for detailing! "

Louis will never stop asking for a life-size sculpture of himself to be displayed on the fountain in front of the lair's govermental building. Malda will never give in.

Louis is like that horrible relative that is always asking if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend yet. He thinks someone as pretty as Alalme should definitely have a mate, but Alalme is uncomfortable when it comes to romance, and is upset by how insistent Louis is. Louis is probably too insensitive really grasp this and, to be fair, would probably cut it out if he realised how much distress he was actually causing.

It's too bad our clan leader isn't single, but he's not really the kind of guy to fool around anyway ~~trust me I've tried~~. You wouldn't really know these two were a couple just by looking, they're not cuddly at all, but I suppose their many hatchlings are evidence that they get along just fine.

Oh boy, watching these two gives me an aneurysm. They just need to get together already! Ala keeps telling me to 'mind my own business' but that just means they're taking it more seriously than they let on ;)

These two totally foiled my plan of getting Alalme a mate, but I guess I can tolerate it because they're pretty cute together. Neither seem to like me very much though... I wonder why?

Okay, this is like top-secret goss, but these two have history. And our clan's heir is the result of that 'history'. They seem to get along just fine, though. I would have liked just a bit of jealousy or scandal.

"We're just friends." Pfft, yeah right. Whenever I see these two they're frolicking around with the butterflies in a meadow or something. That has to mean something.

These are two of the clan's most elusive members, but don't think I haven't noticed their chemistry. Just you wait.

Yes, you heard that right; our clan's heir is on the search for love. He wants someone supportive, and would like to be a little more lovey-dovey than his serious Papa.

A huge romantic, but too shy to ask anyone out. You'd have to approach him first, for sure, and even then he'd stumble over his words and get all embarrassed. How cute is that?

If you want to be serenaded, this is the dragon to go to. He's got a lovely voice, and would be happy to sing to his lover whenever they wanted. He'd definitely be open to a poly relationship ~~just not with me included, I've been told :'(~~

Dragons that say "I wouldn't mind a partner" probably don't deserve one. I mean, come on, where is your enthusiasm?! Aurqilea is "kind of on the lookout" for someone intelligent and who can show genuine interest in his work, which he is very passionate about. Imagine being passionate about your work...

Have you ever actually fallen for someone, for more than their looks? And if so, who and why?

You would not be able to coax a serious answer out of Louis if his life was on the line, so I'll answer for him; he is yet to find someone he loves for more than superficial reasons. He would tell you that he has been in love many times, but truthfully he's too immature and self-centred (and just a huge hedonist) to have really invested time to get to know another dragon. If he stopped to reflect, he'd probably realise he's kinda lonely, but he throws himself into each new day with renewed vigour (its one of his few good qualities).

He may find love one day! I have just a tiny bit of faith!
