Orchid

The chosen companion of BaradMorn, little is known about her, mostly because she rarely speaks for herself. She will relay messages from BaradMorn to the rest of the clan as best as she is able to, though his word choice and the length at which he speaks when his visions are upon him makes it difficult for her to share the full message with others. Yet despite being simpleminded she is by no means stupid. Orchid understands why she has to deliver the visions in her halting, pained efforts, because she is the only one able to put them into words that others can understand. Anyone else would try and focus on the visions as a whole to see where they fit in while she looks at them as wholes unto themselves. In the same way that one cannot break down a smell into its component notes without losing the message it speaks, a vision and the words and images that make it are ruined once you examine the parts.

Behind her blank, mooncalf eyes is the mind of a natural born leader, just not of her own kind. There was a reason she came to the Scarred Wasteland, driven by the scent of blood and suffering, even if she does not fully recall the reason herself. She knows that it was a thing of great improtance that made her follow that strange dream scent, carried by winds too faint to feel. In her own subtle ways she keeps the clan together, her silence making others more willing to talk to her and on the occasions where she does speak her own words, she is listened to. Her slow methodical thinking allows her to see things others might miss and thus solve the problesm that the clan has. Of course any idea she presents is usually not attributed her, not that she is bothered by it. Pride has no place in her mind and she is content to take satisfaction in knowing what she does and knowing her true value, a thing that only baradMorn seems to appreciate.
