"Contrary to his breed, Hemlock lived fairly independently before the inception of his clan. His past and heritage are a mystery to him. By his account, he survived his early hatchlinghood by bouncing between different tundra herds and dragon clans. He lived off their charity, but never shook the feeling that he was a burden, just another mouth to feed in the already sparse tundra. As he grew he found himself traveling the Icefields alone.
It would seem this lifestyle instilled in him skills that would later aid him as a leader. He can defend himself and his clan adeptly, and he is a level-headed decision maker. Apparently certain exploits during his hermitage caught the attention of Icewarden's acolytes, and he was approached with the intention of making him an asset to the Flight.
At the Icewarden's behest, Hemlock took charge of a little sliver of Flight territory, and began assembling the meager beginnings of a proper dragon clan. (Or, herd, rather. Most of his recruits have only been other tundra adoptees, lost or herdless loners like he was, and he has warmly accepted their company.) They are tasked with acting on the Flight's interests- be it diplomacy with other flights, or defending their territory from beast clans and the like. Hemlock himself may be relatively young and inexperienced for the role, but he is pulling off the job with aplomb. As a leader he is thoughtful, dedicated, and above all humble- a rare trait indeed! It's easy to believe that this clan will have a bright future."
