Lethe joined the clan when she was just a baby. Her parents lived in an allied clan, but, sadly, were unable to care for her due to low living space. She was the first of their many children, and unfortunately, the only one still living. She found herself across the way and fell in naturally with the clan. Lethe's enthusiasm made up for her clumsiness as a young dragon. After all, she was a Snapper in a clan of elegant Skydancers. But as she grew older, she became more surefooted and much better at not breaking things she walked past. Not long after she started her apprenticeship with Kavi, the clan was attacked. Her mentor was lost in the process, as well as many others. It was that day that changed her life. She was so filled with rage - for her mentor, for her friends - that she rammed one of the attackers. She kept ramming them, over and over and over again, until - they were gone. She'd run them all out. Persephone approached her that day, and offered to train her. She left behind her forge and turned to the battlefield. Around that time, a new dragon had joined the clan. His name was Archeron, and she took great joy in calling him Archie. He seemed to be very alone, but Lethe was too. And he was interesting, so she talked to him. They became fast friends. She supported his writing, and he would eventually remind her how much she'd enjoyed her first apprenticeship. Then it happened. It was bound to really. One of the warriors was bound to be lost. She'd just never thought it would be her. She'd been ramming an intruder when another one snuck up on her. Her belly had been exposed, for just a second, but it had been enough. They said that Archie sang her back to life. She didn't remember most of it; she just remembered seeing the Arcanist, hunched over a pile over books. And then - black. There was a gate, and she swore she saw The Gatekeeper. But then she opened her eyes, and Archie was there, as was the rest of the clan. After that, she became the clan's mechanic. She loved fixing things, and Rory was often too busy inventing things or fixing her own inventions to remember that Savano really needed this thing fixed so - it became her job. When she wasn't protecting the clan, she was fixing things for it - and listening to her husband, Archie, sing to her. They had kids, too - but they were taken by a strain of the Infection. It was a battle the hatchlings fought valiantly, but, eventually, all warriors fall. Lethe still misses them, and Archie does too, but they've healed. Now, they're focused on loving life, no matter how temporary it may be. Archie's familiar, Trunks, likes to cuddle after long days, and Lethe's, (named Herald) is happy to as well. Things are good. |
