Gamma and her mate, Mitsobar, used to be... different. They used to be feathered and fluffy, though some fluff does remain. When the plague struck, they became some of the first of a freshly emerged ancient breed, the Aberrations. They obviously didn't choose the name.

Canonically, the two are more similar to coatls than the skydancer-like aberrations, but for obvious reasons they cannot appear so here.
