Serenade Elder Singer |
"Hush now little ones" she coos to the nest of hatchlings, as their tiny peeps and squeals fill the air. Calmly, she cranes her head high, letting out a single high note. The peeps grow silent. The note changes to a melody, and the melody into a song. SInging, she tells the hatchlings a story of how the stars joined the sky and the sea together. It's one of her favourite lullabies, as she croons, they young dragons start to settle down. One by one, the little ones fall asleep, huddled amongst each other for warmth. Smiling, the older dragon finished her song, slowly stepping out of the nursery. "You always work miracles." The poison coated dragon smiled, carefully shutting the moss curtain behind the large Imperial. Flicking her tail, Serenade shook her head. "Oh no, you're the one who cares and teaches the young. You're shaping our future. I merely put them to sleep." she laughed, the other dragoness joining in. Nuzzling each others' shoulder, the dragonesses sighed. The two had been friends for ages, since joining Lux Shimmer. They'd been through a lot together, but remained true friends through it all. Reina pulled back, still smiling. "Maybe so, but where would I be without sleep?" Reina joked, both of the laughing. "speaking off, shouldn't you be heading off soon, we wouldn't want you to catch something from being over tired." Perhaps she was right, she had been up late singing to the hatchlings for several days in a row now. A grumpy brood mother, after all, would be no more helpful then a singer who'd lost her voice.

Serenade is an elder in the Lux Shimmer Clan. As one of the oldest dragons, she has long since been through the days of her youth, flirting from clan to clan, travelling the world, searching for adventure and treasure. Settled into her role as Elder Singer, she works both as an advisor and storyteller. She also sings the tales of other dragons, the legends of Sorneith and the tales of those long since forgotten. Serenade is a calm, gentle dragon. Always careful of what's underfoot, she prides herself in her demeanor. She's very wise and always willing to help the younger members of her clan. Still mothering young, she is mated to Divertimento, the scout of her clan. Although she worries for him when he goes out on long missions, he always returns with new stories for her to sing. |
