Biography
Ripple - Current - Opal
A ferocious creature composed of storm clouds, the fearsome Gyre Wolf hits like a strong wind,
strong enough to tear down buildings and trees. Ruthless and heeding to no one, the beast is a force to be reckoned with and not taken lightly.
- becomes a tornado
- can create smaller gyre wolves out of its essence
Gyre Wolf Dragons are either Nature, Wind, or Lightning, and very rarely Water or Fire. Reason: Storms are created by nature and explained by science. Also there are natural storms occuring in the Nature realm but Lightning's experiments have made a storm that is raging on entirely, so these Gyre Wolves can be made in either of the two places. They can be found in other flights, but they're always Lightning or Nature dragons. Occasionally you can find them as Water dragons, Wind dragons, or Fire dragons (waterspouts, gustnados, and firewhirls), but they're very very rare.
Acceptable Genes: Ripple/Current, Saturn/Jupiter, Falcon/Peregrine, Bar/Daub, Striples, Eye Spots, Opal, Runes, Thylacine and Smoke.
Acceptable Colors:
For Nature/Lightning/Water/Wind:
Primary: Orca - Obsidian
Secondary: Orca - Obsidian
Tertiary: Most common are blues (Lightning and Water), greens (Nature/Wind), but purples and greyscale are acceptable, as well as pinks.
For Fire:
Primary: Orca - Obsidian
Secondary: Orca - Obsidian
Tertiary: Yellows, oranges and reds. Goldenrod - Beige and Auburn - Blush.
Breeds: Any breed is accepted.
Possible Scries:
Lightning - Black/Coal/Cornflower - Ripple/Current/Opal
Nature - Obsidian/Orca/Shamrock - Ripple/Current/Runes
Water - Lead/Oilslick/Cyan - Speckle/Freckle/Smoke
Fire - Black/Coal/Sanguine - Bar/Eye Spots/Opal
Lightning - Lead/Oilslick/Abyss - Ripple/Stripes/Thylacine

EF2 - Common breed dragons: Pearlcatcher, Ridgeback, Snapper, Spiral.
EF3 - Uncommon breed dragons: Bogsneak, Skydancer
EF4 - Limited breed dragons: Nocturne, Imperial
EF5 - Rare breed dragons: Wildclaw, Coatl
Common Familiars: Gale Wolf, Steam Gyre, Smoke Gyre, Storm Seeker, Cloud Chaser, Clouddancer, Clouded Mith, Cumulus Seal, Glamortail Hopper, Opposing Forces, Snow Streak, Snowfall Elk, Snowsquall Floracat, Squall Rasa, Spring Millifae, Stormcloud Harpy, Sunspot Clouddancer, Unlikely Alliance, Autumn Millifae, Chillwind Harpy, elemental familiars (festival familiars)
Background Lore:
Born when natural magic occurs during a thunderstorm, Gyre Wolves are a force of destruction large enough to take out buildings and structures with no problem at all. Gyre Wolves can spawn smaller Gyre Wolves, all varying in their intensity and strength, which is determined by their breed.
All Gyre Wolves are ferocious and chaotic, their tempers fierce and their fuses short, but their fury brief, lasting only a few minutes. Some of the more powerful Gyre Wolves can have furies last hours, but they're so rare they're once in a century.
Gyre Wolves are nearly all purely physical beings. There are certain beings who may retain magical abilities from their original creation, but these are so rare they're considered maladies and are usually cast aside. This is much more common amongst the stronger dragons (aka mostly in Skydancers and Coatls). The Gyre Wolves are still destructive, but can put their abilities to much more use by possessing other creatures or imbuing items with magic and creating more destruction. Unfortunately these individuals often go insane, due to the inability to express their anger, so it builds up within them. They are physically very weak, because their magical ability drains their energy.
