You check your map again. There's no lakes out here, or there shouldn't be. Not one of this size, and one this size would have been mapped years ago, right? Unless you're lost. That's always an option. Lakes don't just spring up overnight.

The water is cold. Freezing, even, and still as it is clear, in stark contrast to the heat of Dragonhome. It's unnatural- but maybe it's coming down from the mountains surrounding it. That makes sense, right? Did you hear that splash or was it just me?

Gitchee has no family. As far as he can tell, he sprung forth from the water- fully grown, fully aware. Or maybe the water sprung from him. It was so long ago, and first memories are always very alarming and distorted.

It makes him a lonely sort. He's always desperate for company, descending on any who stop by his lake to pester them with greetings and questions and invitations to tea. He loves tea parties, ever since one such visitor arrived with a tea set. It's his now, he supposes. She hasn't complained about it yet anyway.

He doesn't take no for an answer though. You will join him for tea, whether you can breath underwater or not. For those unfortunately lucky few who survive being dragged into the lake, they'll find a parlor filled with previous guests. "They don't talk much anymore." he says. "But that doesn't mean they're bad company."
