This rotund little dragon is a ray of sunshine in the dark caves housing the Beacon Clan's hoard, where she takes care of anything and everything that ends up there. A lover of stories and collector of trivia, life on the island is perfect for her due to the constant trickle of travellers passing through with tales from afar. Objects have stories, too- she remembers all of them, and has a perfect mental catalogue of everything in the ever-growing pile. Her storage system is incomprehensible to anyone else. It may look like a random mess to you, but if you ask for something you can be sure Xanthia will know where to find it.

Bring this dragon something particularly exotic and you'll have a friend for life. In typical snapper fashion it can be difficult to get her to stop talking once she starts; often dragons visiting the hoard will end up down there for hours while Xanthia gives them the full history of something or other. Though few in the clan really mind; her bubbly enthusiasm is infectious.

However, woe betide anyone who tries to steal! She may be cheerful and friendly, but she is a force to be reckoned with when the collection is threatened. Smaller dragons will be sat on. Larger ones will find sturdy jaws clamped onto the nearest limb. Thievery is difficult when hauling a small but extremely solid snapper around like a ball and chain!
