Her voice sounds cheerful; a soothing happiness that seems to manifest in a volume that isn’t too loud or too soft. It’s hard to say if her discordant movements are unnerving or are just another way of dancing. It’s an understatement to say that she’s melodic; she is a songless melody that bewitches those wayward souls into dancing in her parade. She is the stern hand on the helm of an unerring ship that seems to carry their ceaseless celebration into the ethers of the ever-expansive horizon coated in its misty shawl. She has always been and will always be the embodiment that she has created, for her physical form is just a fake consolidation of concepts that she has stitched together at both one point and all points of her being. With the sudden waking clarity that boomed through her vessel through the eons of her life without a single, specific period to pinpoint when; Charon knew her purpose and what she had to do to extend her essence. ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮

╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯While Charon is not large, or even that tall by dragon standards, her physical form can be intimidating. Her head is a ball of undulating light encapsulated by three roving masks that represent different species, which she can change at will. Her arms are humanoid with an amethyst-like liquid carved into the flesh and trailing down to her fingers. Just below the diaphragm, her chest cavity concaves into an empty space held together by a floating, square chunk of rock. Peeking from the top of her waist is another pair of arms, less humanoid and without the markings. Below, her legs curve into hooves and her tail winds down into a fluffy point. Her stature feels ancient and timeless and young; her being is a trifecta of concepts that contradict each other, yet are quelled by the abstract of her essence. ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮

Job Description
╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯She walks between the thin lines of life and death, a ghost that collects the lost souls of the recently deceased dragons that happen along her path. She does not lead them back to their gods, instead caring for them herself as they slowly unravel into chaotic static, then she reforms them into one of her familiars. She can be seen during the period of the Nocturnes with a large clan of strange creatures trailing after. Though, for some reason, she's started to appear outside this period as well. ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮

I named her after the greek mythological ferryman of Hades who carried the souls of the newly deceased across the rivers Styx and Acheron. I liked the idea of her wavering between the realms of the living and the dead. Initially, I wanted to dip into the concept of royalty in the lore, but over time she developed into something cooler. Her name is appropriate even if her delivery is not to any of the deities.

Like, what does she use these familiars for? It says they follow her around, but do they have a consciousness? Do they know their path? Why does she do this instead of bringing them to their gods? Plus the fact that she's appearing more often has implications that she's going to be able to have a larger trail of these familiars, by simple virtue of her being around more often to encounter the souls she uses.
