Druid
Nature Ambassador Theme
Humble || Proud || Adaptable
The land of Sornieth is vast and varied. Extremes of all kinds exist, from the scalding stone of the Ashfall Wastes to the frigid cold of the Southern Icefield. Some believe that such opposition is natural, that it is impossible for the different flights to peaceably coexist. Druid never believed that was the case. From the day he hatched and the emerald of the Viridian Labyrinth surrounded him, the wildclaw was awed at the beauty of the world surrounding him. Birds sang as light filtered through foliage, framing his smiling mother in a radiant glow. Gladeseeker immediately began to teach Druid of the ways of the Gladekeeper. She spoke of her kind benevolence, her respect for all manner of living things and the way she sought to spread life through the world. Druid loved his mother’s tales, listening enraptured to her stories of other places, places untouched by the green and without the gift of abundant life. As he grew older, these stories filled Druid with a sense of purpose. He couldn’t understand how there were dragons that hadn’t seen the green of a tree or walked upon the verdant grass of the forest floor. Surely, if they knew such wonders existed, they would flock to the Gladekeeper. The young wildclaw never took his home for granted, reveling in every moment he spent in the lush groves surrounding the Behemoth. Of the stories Gladeseeker told Druid, the ones that interested him most were of the Plaguebringer. The thought of a deity consumed by death and decay and whose domain reflected those aspects both appalled and intrigued him. It was only natural that when Gladseeker instructed him to go forth and spread the Gladekeeper’s teachings across the land, Druid chose to go to the Plaguebringer’s domain. Walking through the Plaguebringer’s lands, Druid felt as though he were exploring a cancerous sore on the world itself. If green was here, it was not a color to be celebrated; it either warned of poisonous foods or acidic pits, both ready to consume an unwary dragon. Even as the clouds hung low in the sky and the very air burned his nostrils, Druid felt a small thrill pass through his body. Everywhere he looked, he saw life triumphing, adapting to the harsh wastes to survive, even thrive. It was not long before he stumbled upon a dragon clan. Although they were wary at first, the fact he did not seek to change their way of life, but rather admired their land for what it was, made his transition into his new lair quite easy. Druid still spread his beliefs as his mother had instructed him, but he did so in a non-intrusive way, speaking only to those willing to listen. The others tolerated his words about the Gladekeeper, and many even enjoyed the stories. No matter how much time he spent in Scarred Wasteland, Druid walked tall and proud, a testament to nature’s ability to adapt to even the harshest of climates. Bio by @Bartz |
