Nexus is both a young mechanical engineer and a technical electrician. Nexus makes good use of the metallic scrap that is brought home by the scavengers and likes to dedicate his time to creating tiny robots and devices when he’s not feeling like spending time with his mate and 3 grandchildren. He dislikes rodents and pests that chew on his cables or hatchlings that tamper with his hardware when he’s not looking and is known for snapping out when he catches either of them within his sharpened claws. Originally, Nexus was a scientist working in the golem workshop, he contains most of the knowledge and areas of the place and claims to know the secrets of even magic. Of course, he cannot go back there due to his lack of working and studying, and now works as an engineer for our clan. Quirky and interesting, Nexus can sometimes also be referred to a "Doctor" or "Caretaker" due to the amount of limbs he has to fix on dragons. Normally, he can be found just sitting at his workshop reading or even looking at certain blueprints. Due to his unique element water, it can be difficult to navigate and use certain metals and energy. Being zapped many times on his paws and face, he was given a pair of gloves to fasten his research and prevent the amount of times he would have to be treated again. His beautiful genes and colours can easily blend into dark places like caves and woods. His wing span is almost double the size of his length, with a impressive size of nearly 9m, he is fantastic at traveling the harsher winds in the lair. The other side of his wings are completely black with a tint of blue. Nexus enjoys spending his work hours pondering and writing new blueprints. He enjoys investigating individual electrical parts and writing them down onto a large piece of parchment paper. He also happens to own a phone, which is unique because phones are tiny compared to dragons. Nexus has incredible night vision and can stay up late for many hours. Other dragons always tell him to take a break from work but he is almost always fascinated with what he does. Nexus also has a triplet of grandchildren, his mate Ihu left to serve the Lightweaver after leaving this clan to find another. Nexus was left with her young's children: Iko, Inu and Itaru. Despite quite the large age difference, Nexus often visits his grandchildren and talks hours about his inventions. All of them managed to find jobs. Iko worked as a Scribe who writes down history of each individual day that passes. Inu works as a lightning Ambassador now and Itaru who works the same job as Nexus, a Mechanical Engineer. He also enjoys a casual trip outside the lair, each dragon of the clan are permitted breaks from work multiple times a day. Nexus is no different, so he explores what he enjoys doing in his spare time. Occasionally he'd go off to find one of his grandchildren to talk to but most of the time he would just try to interact with other dragons of the lair. The closest dragon he's ever talked to is Ace, the clan's royal guard. He often likes to describe Ace as a friendly yet courageous dragon, a good friend when you need him and a nice companion to talk to. Ace and Nexus have known each other for a while although Ace is much older than him. Nexus often enjoys supplying Ace with his favourite food which is a cyan cockatoo. Ace doesn't farm in the Golem Workshop, his abilities suit for more faster attacks suitable for areas like boreal woods, ghostlight ruins and the mire. Nexus farms cyan cockatoos in his spare time, why such a specific breed of bird? Nexus keeps all sorts of birds, but most of them eventually become food. Nexus also always wears a metal chain around his neck and at the base of his wings. He often likes to joke about how the chains he wears are "cool" accessorises but no dragon really knows the real reason behind his chain apparel. Nexus also enjoys wearing a lab coat, even though he isn't a scientist anymore. He has kept the same lab coat ever since his old occupation and still enjoys wearing it. Occasionally but rarely, dragons visit Nexus for the replacement of one of their limbs, usually permanently broken or amputated. Nexus usually doesn't enjoy attaching robotic limbs to his patients but without it, dragons would have a much harder time at work. His grandson Itaru often likes to work with him at work. While Nexus creates blueprints, Itaru makes them. Itaru is usually always passionate about making machinery and Nexus is passionate about making new designs and improvements. |
