The Bloodied King

Haughty and cold seeming in personality, the Morningstar - only his mate Lillith is allowed to call him by any nickname - is a creature of regal bearing. He guides his clan with a firm claw, always keeping on track with the vision of greatness he can see lying in the future. But though he may seem cold and calculating with strangers, the hatchlings of his clan know the true kindness behind his frigid attitude.

He shares his history with no one; all that is known is that one day Tryll, then matriarch of her little clan, flew out of the lair, and several days later returned with the adolescent Imperial dragon. He grew quickly into maturity, and though he tried to court the older Tundra in his first clumsy efforts to gain power, Tryll saw his true motivations. She held no ill will towards the Morningstar however - she had brought him into the clan because of the potential she saw when she first found him.

But another already held the throne of the clan - the dark Skydancer, Lillith. Rather than fight and risk destroying what little clan they had, they instead decided to ally with each other and share power. But what started as an uneasy true soon became an unbreakable bond as the two realized they had found a truly equal partner.
