L O R E


As your eyes travel around the clan grounds, you spot a tower reaching a staggering height. The door is left half-open, so you figure that it wouldn't hurt to have a look around. Suddenly, the ground starts shaking and you spot a brightly-coloured dragon. He says something to you, but you are too busy looking around to understand what he said. "I said, why on Earth are you here?" he snaps at you. You explain that you found Ember's letter and you are here to solve the apparent problem between him and Sanguine. "Well, why didn't you just say so? Here, try this," he hands you a test tube filled with some sort of blue substance. You assume he means drink it so you gingerly take a small sip. You shriek as a shock bolt dashes through your body and the dragon laughs. Surprisingly, it didn't do any damage, other than, of course, shock you. "Haha! Luckily that potion is not toxic, I had a feeling someone was going to be foolish enough to actually drink it! No, silly, I meant throw it against the wall!" You do so, and a current of electricity runs through it. "Now touch the wall. It's okay, nothing bad will happen to you!" So you press your hand against the wall and suddenly you are filled with energy. You start jumping up and down and sprinting around the dragon, who is now rolling on his back, laughing hysterically. The burst of energy dies down, and the dragon scrambles to his feet. "Now hold your horses, I think I have some sea salt crackers in that cupboard," he rushes into a different room and grabs a big box. "Here, a lil' bit mouldy, but it'll do!" You feel your stomach growl and you scrape the mould off the cracker. Normally, you would decline the offer of gone-off food, but you were very hungry and did not know when the next time you would eat again would be. You bit into the cracker, and it did not taste nearly as bad as you expected. "Alright isn't it? You weren't expecting that, I'm sure," he seemed to be able to read your mind. "And, if you didn't know, I am the Clan Mage, at your service!" he bowed, then fell over a cauldron on the ground. Now it was your turn to laugh. "Oh, dear, I seem to be a bit clumsy today, he runs outside and looks at some kind of sun-dial and tells you, "You best be going if you ever want to see Ember," he handed a basket of potions to you. "Here, take these. There are labels on that that will tell you what they are for. Run along now, you mustn't be late... Please, get Sanguine back to being the leader. Do it for me. Alright, goodbye!" And so you run off, waving as you go.
