Biography

Sappho is a prideful dragon, who loves seeking adventure and excitement. As soon as she escaped the watchful eye of her weepy mother, she began to explore the depths of the sea with all the cleverness and bravado that could be contained in her squat body. She seeks danger, loving the adrenaline rush of escaping by the tips of her claws. She’s frightfully rude to everyone, which was shocking the elders who tried to dissuade her from such a dangerous lifestyle, and is really quite socially numb—but that hasn’t stopped her from fitting in with her quirky friends. Thalassic Wings is all Sappho has ever none, and she loves to make it an exciting and interesting place for new friends.

It's dark when Sappho awakes--it's always dark down here. Stretching and yawning, she springs up and trots out of her dry little den, pouncing down into the flooded hall. Lit by luminescent crystals, she swims through the labyrinth of halls and dens, taking special care to dart back where her parents sleep. Stopping by the food stores, she grabs a snail to snack on before turning back and navigating a complex, narrow path, a secret exit to the colony. She bursts out of the winding tunnel into open water, where light filters lazily down from above. It's a clear day, what luck! The tide here is fresh, and she breaths a sigh of relief before digging into the snail, chewing as she drifts with the current. |

Family
Sapphire’s mother, Momoa, was absent for much of her time as a hatchling, as Momoa was dedicated to maintaining the powerful magic forcefield around the Thallassic Wings, as the marens had been far more aggressive back then. When Sappho finally got to spend time with her mother, Momoa was deeply depressed, and clinged very tightly to her baby, not wanting Sappho to get into trouble. Now, they get along poorly--Sappho stresses Momoa out, and Momoa acts like Sappho is someone she is not. Cleo is Sappho’s younger stepbrother. He is very nervous and sad little slip of a drake, and thusly very easy to tease. She doesn't understand why he became the leader of the prophets, and finds it annoying when people respect him. Orchid is Sappho’s stepfather. He married Momoa after Sappho had grown up, which really surprised her, as he used to be Sappho’s mentor. While she used to have a lot of respect for him, she now mostly just finds him very annoying. |

Clanmates Aether is just a little older then Sappho, and the two of them have quite the rivalry. While Sappho is talented at nearly everything, Aether's abilities are exclusive to her, and has brought the clan advancements that have changed the way Denim Wings runs. The issue is, Sapphire thinks she's better then tundra, and Aether thinks she's better then the skydancer. The two of them compete daily to outdo one another: Aether makes a new candle design, Sappho finds some rare shells, Aether create a portable lighting device, Sappho hunts enough fish to feed the clan for a week. If they weren't at neck and neck, then likely, they'd be able to do much more: but alas, perhaps their fervent hate-crushes run too deep. Lately, Sappho's been hanging out a lot with Marshmallow. Marshmallow is happy hardly ever leaving the walls of her home, so Sappho's been bringing her back all kinds of treasures. Unbenounced to Marshie, she herself is the source of most of Sappho's beloved dares. It seems the two have quite the crush on one another. |
