Momoa, Weeper of Seas

Momoa’s never been quite right since she lost her children, beset by constant sorrow. She’s had several clutches and several husbands, but lost many of them through flight and beastclan conflicts, some even without ever being named. The deep sadness of loss gave her the power to form a large barrier around herself and others through magic, an ability for which she was brought into Thalassic Wings to create a forcefield around the clan and protect the colony.
After Aether made a replacement forcefield mechanically, Momoa retired from her work of protecting the clan and took up gardening. She works in the apothecary now, and trained the herbalist Cloverpluff in how to raise underwater herbs, though he says she coddles them too much. She also sometimes journeys out of the clan with other dragons, to make sure they stay safe.

Momoa does not have a good relationship with her daughter, Sappho—she was absent for most of Sappho’s hatchlinghood, busy protecting the clan, and after she was able to spend time with her daughter, she was very clingy and restrictive, afraid that Sappho would fall victim to the same perils her other children. As an adult, Sappho tries to be careful with her fragile mother, but it’s difficult due to her thrill-seeking lifestyle.
Momoa’s son, Cleo, is a lot like her, but with powers of prophecy. His ability is to twist fate, and prevent something horrible from happening, but he’s not very good at and it’s given him confidence issues. Momoa set a bad example for Cleo, and he’s grown to be a mopey dragon like she is. The two like to spend time together, having tea and talking calmly.
Momoa’s husband, Ocarina, is a dramatic fae with a lot of flair. He fell in love with Momoa after he had to take care of her for a while, and she fell in love with him too. She thinks she’s very beautiful, and he's given her enough joy and confidence that she perks up whenever she sees him. The two have happily married for a few years now, and how mushy they are with each other makes Sappho sick.
