Vivien is a strict captain. She fully expects the dragons serving under her to obey her orders and to treat her with a certain amount of respect. Despite this, she is open to suggestions from her Quartermaster, and isn't overly cruel to the members of the crew. They can joke around and laugh with her, as long as they keep in mind the differences in status.

Vivien has sworn to uphold the laws in every action she takes as a captain. In her superiors' minds, there is no wiggle room built in within the laws, and Vivien is expected to enforce every law, even those she disagrees with. Vivien is a bit uncomfortable with this, but is resigned to do her duty as it is handed out to her.
