Biography

Eremit small_male.png
Storyteller

Personality

As a hatchling, Eremit could usually be found hidden in his father's fur. This shyness and timidness persisted into adulthood. After meeting his now mate, Agina, he began to come out of his shell and put his talents to good use.

Occupation

Eremit has a fondness and talent for poetry and prose. His talent caught the eye of the clan Archivist, Xiivo, who had hoped to groom him as his apprentice. Eremit undertook the Archivists offer, using the facts and figures he was given to spin wondrous (and sometimes horrifying) tales. Xiivo was sorely disappointed. The clan’s hatchlings, however, enjoyed them immensely. Taken as a sign, Eremit left his apprenticeship to work with his father in caring for the clan’s hatchlings.

Relationships

Despite this, his quiet, thoughtful demeanor and gentle soul has earned him the attention of many would-be suitors. His heart, however, belongs to a Light Clan Skydancer artist named Agina.

Emergence of Clan Viperskull

The Wandering Contagion is aptly named. Many young Founders begin their lives here as wanderers sent out by Mother Plaguebringer herself to infect the surrounding land. These wanderers often find each other in the contagion and found clans of their own.

Feue was one such hatchling. In her mind, her objective was clear: fulfill Mother Plaguebringer's edict.

When she came of age, she made the rough trek through Rotrock Rim, her speed and ferocity keeping her alive and well-fed. When she finally reached the Abiding Boneyard, she spared not a second thought.

Even as the weeks passed, she never grew disheartened. She was lost and she knew it, but the Plaguebringer would provide. And she did.

He appeared on the horizon one morning; his large, white wings in stark contrast to the sickly colors of their surroundings. She was intrigued and he seemed to notice her as well, his deliberate stride halting as he regarded her. And for a long while neither of them moved.

Eventually he approached her, cautiously, carefully. He made it within thirty paces of her before he made a mistake and she stiffened. He had lowered his head to get a better look at the small dragon, but he hadn't relaxed his wings. She had clearly seen his action as a threat.

He paused, rectifying his mistake but moving no closer.

He could see she was curious. He was curious. She was the first other dragon he'd come across since he left - some friendly company would be welcome. Unfortunately, she seemed unwilling to make the first move.

His eyes wandered as he pondered his next move - and then he noticed her tracks. She had been headed the wrong way. Had she been lost? For a brief moment he thought of asking her, but somehow thought she wouldn't be receptive to it. So instead he turned and started walking in the direction he had been headed.

After a few paces, he stopped and turned. She was watching him. He gestured briefly with his head in the direction he was headed and continued on. A few moments later he was pleased to see her next to him - still thirty paces away, but headed in the right direction. It was an unsteady alliance, he knew, but it would do.

They traveled in parallel for many weeks. Her swiftness made easy work of the smaller creatures that skirted across the desert sands, and his larger frame and strength made short work of the larger would-be predators in the area. They ate well.

On a few occasions he tossed her portions of his meal when she had been unable to find something for herself. She would refuse it when he did, but it would always be picked clean by the next morning.

And so their unsteady alliance endured.

Then one morning they saw it. There on the horizon -

Tendrils and membranes creeping into the Boneyard. Finally, they had made it to the Contagion.

Feue was pleased. She rushed towards it as fast as her legs would carry her, not noticing the danger that lurked within.

It blindsided her, sending her tumbling into a nearby grouping of thick tendrils. She quickly pulled herself up onto shaky legs. Glancing at the creature, she spied its exposed and rotting skull kept alive by the contagion itself - a reanimated corpse baring its sharp and poisonous teeth.

It rushed at her again, an unholy sound escaping its throat as it moved. She made to dodge away, finding instead that tendrils she had tumbled into had wound themselves around her feet. So instead she bared her own teeth and readied her own claws. She'd protect herself or die fighting.

But it never came. With a thunderous roar the white-winged dragon clamped its jaws around the creature's waist and slammed it to the ground. He raised himself up momentarily upon his hind legs - his massive wingspan blotting out the sun - and came down upon the creature's body, crushing it.

Feue looked up into his menacing, red eyes, unsure of his intentions.

He seemed to notice her unease, and in response folded his wings and lowered his head to her, a sign of submission.

She freed herself and strode towards him. In a sign of gratitude, respect, and something else, she nuzzled him - the Guardian dragon.

Her Guardian dragon.
