Runic came to this lair already trained from his experience in other places. He is a guardian, but has never dedicated himself to anyone to guard. His previous mates have all long gone, leaving him by himself. His goals in life now is to train as many knew successors as possible. Though he and Tesla rarely see eye to eye nowadays he fully supports the idea of brining more people into their guild.

Runic is a steadfast dragon who would most defiantly be lawful good. He believes in laws and powers above him, he has never desired the role to be a leader, simply a follower. Because of this he rarely questioned what Tesla said while she lead the guild, however it also means now that Rona is in charge his loyalty belongs mostly to them. He mantains that his goal is to help whoever is the creator of laws and since Rona took charge with the full support of most he thinks that this is the best course of action.

As is to be expected Runic is a be estranged from Tesla, though he and Lixian get along just fine. He has also recently taken great interest int he progress of one of their pupils, a dragon whose name is Gatekeeper. Gatekeeper shares his views and he seems eager to see her training progress. It is rumored that he secretly hopes to see her in charge of the guard one day, replacing Tesla.

During the trial of the Blackwing cult and the investigation of the guards themselves Runic has been nothing less than helpful. He has gladly allowed Rona inside access within their sanctums and openly discussed policies with her. When Tesla becomes closed mouthed Rona will turn to Runic to seek answers.

Through this they have learned a good number of things including information about the tortures and assassins guild. Runic has also shared what he knows about the circus of mirth, though it is granted a limited knowledge. On top of this Runic has also openly stated his concerns about Tesla's leadership to Rona, which has caused the rift between the teacher and his student to widen considerably.

So the strife continues, with Runic attempting to recreate the fallen image of the guard and Tesla persisting in ruling with an iron fist. As it currently stands Runic fully intends to ensure that Tesla is retired from her post before the end of the next year, stating that she needs some time to relax. Tesla has not dignified this comment with a response, instead continuing down the path she has chosen. There is no doubt that this situation will end in fighting, anger and possibly some tragedy. Rona continues to carefully monitor, though they do not wish to get to involved in personal affairs, feeling it is best for the guild to sort out this infighting themselves.
