y8Jc9ag.png // The dead lands beyond the stretch

• They say if you wander far enough away from the main plague territory, you'll end up in a desert of flesh, where nothing but dried trees and bubbling green pools stick out of the ground. Your only option in the Outlands is to come prepare beforehand to travel through an almost endless open field of alien looking organic matter, or starving to death. Not even the most skilled hunter could last for long here. There is nothing to hunt for. They say this place is cursed. That it was only a verdant forest where a prosper clan of dragons set their home, until their leader went mad and disgrace fell upon them. At least, that's what the legends say.

The Devil Herself | She/Her | Ace | Clan Leader

______ A clan leader that went mad. Some say that Teardrop was once the commander of one of the most prosperous clans in these lands. There isn't a single dragon that hasn't heard of Teardrop in the proximities of her clan, and much less one that was brave enough to challenge her for a fight for the leadership. Teardrop has always been thirsty for power. She ate her brother's eggs before they could hatch, just so she would have no competition for the heritage. Then, at some point, proceeeded to throw herself into the The Wyrmwound, a cauldron of disease churned by the Plaguebringer herself, in the hope that she would become more powerful. Teardrop didn't care for the consequences of becoming a monster.

______ The boiling soup of the Wyrmwound turned Teardrop's body into a translucent goop, giving her the ability to shapeshift into whatever dragon species she desires. No one remembers what her face and body originally used to look like, and her existance became almost mythologic in the mouths of other clans. Some believe in Teardrop's existance, some think she's only a legend created to make mischievous hatchlings behave, but most agree that she's a hardly a dragon anymore, but instead, an entity. It is said that her clan is composed of ghost dragons, and can only be found during the blood moon.

Fun Facts

- Teardrop already had this name when i grabbed her from AH in 2014. Her name was actually the reason why i bought her for 7g (fodder price at the time), because i felt pity that she was going to be exalted :') Time skip to 9 years later when she's one of my favorite dragons <3

- Teardrop has survived many lair purges. I even considered exalting my progens, but never her.

- Her colors were never changed.

- For some time in the past, Teardrop was a fodder breeder for my lair.

(aka me not being able to decide which species she looks cooler as and not wanting to remove her uma, so i just make a whole fashion sheet and assume she's a shapeshifter)

The Farmer
UCr8nDm.png
Teardrop likes to disguise herself as a humble pearlcatcher farmer in the plague lands, which is one of the most ominous things possible, if you stop to think about the fact that there are no farmers in the plague territory. You see, the whole soil is apparently made out of flesh, so it's pretty much unusable for plants. Those who have seen Teardrop in this form, say that she wanders around being followed by vultures, carrying a basket of fruits that drip a sinister red juice or pure liquid gold as she munches on them constantly. Curiously, this seems to be one of her most pacific forms, as there are no reports of Teardrop attacking others while in this state. She just stares at others from afar, disappearing into the distance if someone attempts to approach her.

The Idol
hGNddSW.png
It is said that this is Teardrop's true form, but only because it is the one that she displays the most power in, and resembles known forms of angels or demons. She appears like this when she feels comfortable enough to let her extra eyes pop out, or wants to intimidate those who are weak of mind. Those who make sanctuaries for her might see her appear like this from occasionally to collect offerings. When in this form, Teardrop speaks with multiple voices, and her eyes may or may not glow.

The Barghest
tSr1cPp.png
Teardrop takes advantage of the ridgeback's spiky body to hunt and fight for territories, despite it being a dragon breed optimized for fishing. Teardrop being in this form is an indicative of hunger or wrath, and it's extremelly advised to stay away from her, as she will attack on sight.

The Ember Priestress
4A1JCbD.png
Terdrop switches to her coatl form when looking to enhance her magical powers. The downside of only being able to speak coatl language is an annoyance to her, so she becomes selectively mute when in this form. Being a little bit more fire resistant when like this, Teardrop can be seen wandering around in volcanic landscapes and resting on dying fireplaces.

The Merchant
UCr8nDm.png
There has only ever been a single report of Teardrop as a Nocturne when a young dragon from a village came home traumatized one day. They could barely breathe as they tried to explain that someone in the public market tried to sell him a fake piece of jewelry, but when he looked into the stranger's face...there was nothing but a pair of glowing eyes melting out of their eyesockets.

The Phoenix
hsllIVW.png
While in this form, despite the fragile bone constitution, Teardrop is extremelly agile and knows how to use the talons on her wings to pierce and tear apart her oponents. She also seems to be a little bit more introspective and even show signs of a faint sense of moral while in the body of a skydancer, making this form the easiest to talk to. But don't be fooled; while a little bit more rational, Teardrop is still extremelly evil. Some says that while in this form, Teardorp becomes immortal, and will be reborn from her own ashes if defeated. She seems to be unable to turn into a skydancer at her own will or switching to other forms while the moon is full.

The Collector
UCr8nDm.png
Very similar to "The Phoenix", except Teardrop adorns herself with bones and jewelry that clink as she walks. Wanders the desert at night, searching for more bones for her collection. And she's not picky about their source.
The Herald of Madness
hsllIVW.png
While in this form, Teardrop is known for hanging around at century old libraries and repeat every text of every single book around her, despite the fact that she's never seen reading any. She will keep repeating the texts even when she's not around books anymore, and sometimes may even start to pronounce things in ancient languages that can't be found in any books, like she's absorbing their knowledge from an extraterrestrial plane. Teardrop never sleeps, she never stops. She will keep speaking the texts during the night, she will wander around silent and abandoned places and mutter uninteligible things to herself over and over again. No one knows what Teardrop does with this knowledge, as she seems to only mindlessly repeat anything that was ever written without a purpose.

This behaviour is known to drive people insane over time, as Teardrop will keep following the one she chose to torment until something terrible happens to them. It's almost as if Teardrop in this form is a materialization of a curse or an omen.

If you hear someone speaking outside your house at night, shut the windows and do not open the door.

The Plague Bringer
hsllIVW.png
Legend has it that Teardrop lived peacefully in a village in this form for many years, until the place fell ill due to a plague. She watched the whole village be consumed by the disease silently, presencing one by one it's citizen's demises, until no one remained and the place became a ghost town. Teardrop doesn't seem to be affected by any known diseases, and doesn't seem to be bothered enough by others' suffering to try and help. If anything, she seems to be enjoying it. But it could just be an impression, as she never takes out this grim smile out of her face...

It isn't known if the ghost city is real or a place that only exists in legends, but people say that when Teardrop disappears for too long, it means she's visiting the village. Silently wandering through empty houses and carcasses, haunting the place.

The Priest
UCr8nDm.png
Not much is known about this form of Teardrop, but it is said that she lays down at cemeteries, flowers adorning her body, and hums religious hymns to herself. This form is peaceful, but emanates and ominous aura, and everyone who passes by Teardrop while in this state says that they have a terribly spine chilling feeling when getting near her. Caution still advised, despite no reports of her moving while in this form have been made.
The Draconic Rage
4A1JCbD.png
When Teardrop takes this form, she seems to attract all kinds of wild animals who obey to her commands. It is not uncommon to see her being followed by packs of wolves or scavenger creatures who feed on the remainings of her meals. There is only destruction in her mind when in this form, and she cannot communicate in any language besides growls, so there is no point in trying to speak to her while like this.

While in the draconic form, Teardrop's lungs are filled with lava, so black smoke is constantly coming out of her nostrils. She often vomits lava, which can cause forest fires.

The Angel
UCr8nDm.png
Uses this form to travel through the 4th, 5th and beyond dimensions. It is very hard to get a good look at what she looks like while in this form due to the nature of other dimensions. Her body usually looks deformed, blurred or even manifests as only sounds or flashes of light. Impossible to communicate with, as she seem to be unaware to hear sounds from our world while like this. Or maybe she's hearing everything from every dimensions at all times, which makes it hard to pick where the noises are coming from.

The Faerie
tSr1cPp.png
Plants sprout and wither behind Teardrop's each step when in this form, and her small sets of wings are almost always gently agitated, like a hummingbird's wings. Pollen and fairy dust falls from her wings when she shakes them, and butterflies follow her wherever she goes, resting on her back while she sleeps. Teardrop wanders by the forests and collects mushrooms, and then goes to her cavern when the night falls to prepare soups in her cauldron. While she may seem more welcoming while in this form, it is advised to keep a distance and never let her notice your presence. If Teardrop notices anyone is close while like this, she will immediately stop anything she's doing to catch that person. She then proceeds to include them in that day's soup recipe.

The Spirit of the Hunt
UCr8nDm.png
The spirit of the hunt. Roams around the savannah and stretches setting up traps for those who travel outside the main paths. Is the reason why locals always advise travelers to never leave the trail. No one knows what happens to those who fall for the traps as they just seem to disappear, but there are a couple of reports of those who have managed to rescue people from Teardrop's traps. One time, locals managed to rescue victims right as Teardrop was approaching to collect them. She immediately ran away to the bushes, disappearing on sight.

The Holy Beast
UCr8nDm.png
This is the only form where Teardrop has been known for letting people approach her and pet her mane. It feels incredibly hot to the touch, but bearable. Teardrop acts like a giant wolf or lion, but isn't aggressive while in this form. She's even known for letting citizen of villages offer her water, braid her mane and put flowers on it, in her pauses between travels. She lets children play on her body while she naps under the sun, and shakes her tail peacefully to disperse mosquitos when they group up above her. She can speak when like this, although she prefers not to. She always responds questions with riddles or more questions, despite looking like she knows more than she wants to reveal about the universe. If threatened, Teardrop can rip a man in half with a snap of her bite.

The Fallen Angel
hGNddSW.png
Teardrop only eats fruits while in this form. The problem is that she cannot differentiate between fruits and people. Even when they run.

The Mare Mortum
UCr8nDm.png
A child once asked his mother why they weren't allowed to swim in the lake. She replied with a picture.

The Fallen Angel
hGNddSW.png
The second form more used by Teardrop besides her main one. Teardrop tears the sky with her crimson scales, letting out spine chilling screeches that can be heard from miles away. People say she's the reason why cattle disappears misteriously, or why people fall ill overnight without an explanation.

Legend also has it that this is the form that Teardrop originally had before she fell into the Wyrmwound. They say that she commanded a fierce army through multiple wars while in this shape, tearing enemies apart with her powerful jaws. An inspiration to some, a cautionary tale to others, Teardrop will always live through tales and songs.
