No one knows who she was. It's doubted that she even remembers, long-dead thing that she is. Her maw drops and drools constantly, locked at an unnatural angle, only springing to life to chew and tear. Small green pinpricks blink back from the hollow in her skull, and her heart a bundle of buds and reeds bloom in her chest cavity.

They threw her in a well, it's chasm longer than her body, it's hollow fuller than her stomach, too narrow for her wings to stretch and too slick for her nails to catch. Time passes, grass grows and she grows bitter. She dreams. Finally, the clansmen dump their kill. Here the clansmen drop their dead. Everything falls into her well. Rain, light, worms and life not long gone. And so she eats.

They say she died of starvation, and so she eats. They say, 'There was food aplenty in the Viridian Labyrinth, how does one starve?' and still, she eats. They say, 'Waste not, want not' and 'No one goes hungry around the hearth here' and chuckle, but she doesn't stop.

When you're dead, you don't eat for hungers sake.
