BIO:
Syn, draped with precious jewels and adorned by his shimmering scales, waved his wings with a flourish as he entered his cave. Last night his mate, Wicca, had announced to him the news that the baby dragons had hatched. The new father was intrigued by the idea of sons and daughters; However, it meant that he would be missing a dinner party, a rather important one. Never mind that, he thought to himself. I'll just pop in for a quick peek and then be on my way back to the party. I do hope that I can have a son, to take over the business after I'm gone. Syn sold expensive gems. He had them shipped illegally from different parts of Sornieth. It certainly made money- that was the only thing that mattered to him.

The cave was surprisingly dark. Why? Syn bought shiny, expensive gold lanterns. The home was always well-lit.

In the shadows, he could make out three glowing pairs of eyes. Wicca was always quiet (perhaps Syn did not want his wife to outshine him), but she seemed especially so now. "One is dead," she whispered. "The others are a girl and a boy. Our daughter is healthy, but..." Upon closer inspection, Syn found out that his mate was right. His son's wings were bent at an odd angle. His eyes didn't seem to have the intelligence, the cunning needed to illegally peddle gemstones (he was wrong, but it was just as well, for the hatchling was good at heart and would never want to do such a thing for money). So the next day when it was heard that a hatchling was needed to do some lab tests on intelligence and that the lab would pay a large sum of money, Syn sent his son away.
..........................................................................................................................................
It was dark. Everywhere, it was dark. All around him, the hatchling sensed beeping, flashing lights. It smelled like a hospital, irritatingly clean. Also, the hatchling sensed that he was alone. His head hurt. What had happened? Where was the damp, rain-scented cave and the warmth of his sister? Where was he?

He knew that he had fallen asleep, but only when he was woken up by a nice dragon with a soft voice. She spoke gently to him. "We're just going to run a few tests, ok? To see where you're at. And then we'll begin the surgery right away." She turned and talked to another dragon that the hatchling i hadn't noticed standing behind her. He only managed to grasp a few words. "Enhancements... Medication... Sedating the area... Micro-chip? I have it right here in my talon... I suppose it'll work.... I'm sure he'll be fine. His parents just dropped him off like that, I think we're going to have to keep him. I know, it wasn't part of the plan... Nutrition-based diet... Of course." The hatchling's head hurt. He didn't object when the nice dragon turned back around and told him to lay down.

In his wing, there was a sharp pain- then nothing. Darkness. He floated through an endless expanse. Now and then he heard a few sounds, but they were murky and mysterious. Finally the black began to fade, and he heard real words.... "Oh, the medication is starting to wear off. Give him another shot." Then, once again, blackness.

It was some time before the baby dragon woke up again. He looked around him. He was in a blinding white room. Rows of dragons stood in front of him, looking up at him and then back down at their books, jotting notes, and muttering to themselves. Each row seemed to have nine dragons.... There were approximately 72 rows.... Hmm. That would average up to 630. Of course, that wasn't it. That was just an estimate; A guess, if you will. 72 rows of 9 dragons would be not exactly 630, but approximately. The real amount of dragons had to be... Ah! 648. But then, there was the fact that there may be more dragons than the hatchling had anticipated. After all each row seemed to be out of order. It was not a perfect array of dragons, but rather a group. So if it happened, in fact, that each row contained more than nine, or less.... It would round to ten, probably, no matter what. And if there weren't 72 rows? Hmm. Well, it seemed that-

Before he could finish calculating, the nice dragon from before came bursting into the room. "We almost forgot," she panted. "We need more enhancements- For his limbs. It seems that they don't function as they should..." The hatchling was jabbed by a needle. Again, darkness consumed him.
..........................................................................................................................................
He had been told was a lucky dragon. Since he was a hatchling he had been given constant care and a nutrition-rich diet. He had been given enhancements to make his limbs work efficiently and quickly. There was a micro-chip in his brain, so that he could quickly calculate numbers and remember information. He had been a lab test. But he couldn't live in the safety of the lab all his life; After all, part of the experiment was to see if an enhanced dragon could live normally in society. So naturally, the dragon had to leave for a flight of his choice. He chose the Arcane flight.

Since then he has been happy. He has a mate, Amethyst, though not yet any children. And if you come to this day and ask the lab if their experiment was successful, they'll sit down and tell you the story of Arturri.

His scarf was a gift from his mate Amethyst, it was her first knitting project. He loves it dearly and wears it all the time, as a result it has gotten caught in machinery and is slightly shredded on the ends. She has made him a replacement scarf which he only wears on occasions where he must be dressed up, he absolutely refuses to give up his well worn scarf.
