╭———————————————————————╮
"one must be cunning and wicked in this world." ╰———————————————————————╯ A small, tainted creature, twisted and vile, all teeth and bone and claw. In spite of her size, fury and cunning boil in her gut like the very Wyrmwound itself. Baklajan's long and winding past saw her evolve from a young, inquisitive nocturne, to a raging, bloodthirsty warrior, and finally, to a cold, sharp, analytical leader. She was young when she served as the alchemist of what was once Clan Celestian, headed by Amethytic and Kindle. Though she was content, she was ambitious, delving into alchemical secrets that were dangerous, life-changing. She morphed herself into bogsneak, an alchemical marvel of a breed, of science itself. But she had little time to bask in her achievement, as this sudden change exacerbated her plague blood, leading her to become a walking epidemic, though she did everything she could to keep the rest of the clan from making contact with her disease. There came a time when Baklajan was outcast by Kindle from the clan, barely clinging to life from the beating she'd had to receive to be forced out. But rage spurred her heart to beat on, and she made the trek from the Starfall Isles to the Plaguelands, to fight and kill and grow. While there, she aligned herself with Let, a powerful, loyal ally, and Hillveinos, a shifty necromancer she could count on, so long as she lined his hoard. These three ripped Clan Celestian apart, taking control and exiling those Baklajan deemed unsuitable. The exiles returned though, vying for reconciliation and reunification of the group. And so came Baklajan's shift, when leadership replaced violence as her fulfillment. She organized the clan's reunification and put in place an entirely different hierarchy, in which civilians and merchants lived underneath warriors, providing for them in exchange for safety. This reborn society had only just risen from its ashes when many of the clan's tunnels suddenly collapsed, and while all were able to escape, it left the drakes with nothing. A pair of water seers came upon the crumbling caves, and they announced that it was unsafe to remain here. With nothing to lose, Baklajan followed their lead to the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The Oceanarium is a marvel of ingenuity, a submerged building with oxygen flow and other necessities to allow for an interflight clan. As head of the Oceanarium, Baklajan has become more civil, if icy, and has grown adept at diplomacy. For now, her fury sleeps, and though she retained the mutations of her breed change, she is no longer violently contagious. The little Wyrmwound did not die... but it sleeps comfortably, for now. |
