Saliren.
Make yourself comfortable.
Every surface of the office is decorated with rugs, drapes, tapestries, wood carvings, sewing supplies, masks, and countless other trinkets and art supplies. The coatl lays on a huge purple cushion, surrounded by mask-less harpies with seats of their own. Everyone in the room is reading scrolls; they look up in unison as you arrive, and then look briefly surprised, as if they were expecting someone else. Lilac's eyes soften.
"Hello, newcomer. You may sit down if you like. There are spare cushions over there. And tea."
A red-haired harpy gestures to you with a steaming mug.
"We don't typically have company over, but so long as you're quiet it's no issue. Oh, be careful walking over here- I dropped a pin earlier and I haven't found it yet."
"She does that constantly. The carpet is riddled with them," a harpy with purple plumage remarks. The others giggle.
"I am not immune to mistakes, and neither are you, Ro. That is why we are proofreading today."
The harpy groans, picking up her scroll to continue where she left off. The rest of the group follows suit. A green harpy smelling of herbs approaches you and quietly asks what kind of tea you would like.

she/her coatl dragon | weaver | historian | occasional adventurer -Adult, wise beyond her years -Studies history, covers a wide variety of topics but has become especially interested in the history of the Harpy clans, due to the friend group she's happened to become surrounded with -Has long had a hobby of restoring damaged art and writings, and has sort of accidentally started a club. They call it the Ladies' Scroll Club (even though they don't just do scrolls, and not all the members are ladies) -Her other main hobby is weaving elaborate tapestries, often depicting her own interpretations of history, myths and legends. She uses the money from sales of these weavings to fund the club. -Usually quiet, but becomes more talkative with strangers when she's trying to make a good impression. Often speaks more formally than necessary. Has only a mild coatl accent. -When among close friends she doesn't feel the need to speak as much, letting facial expressions, vague noises, one word answers, and gestures do most of the talking. When she does speak up it's usually to make some deadpan witty comment that leaves everyone at first first stunned, then reeling with laughter. -Fluent in both common draconic and the common harpy language, is currently learning the diplomatic beastclan language; remembers little of the coatl language, though she had been fluent as a child -The unlikely object of her affections is Nigel, and the two of them plus Ajacis go on regular adventuring expeditions together (she learned healing magic just so she could keep him safe) |
